The TK7 panel is the newest release of the comprehensive panel for making luminosity masks and running Photoshop. It includes all the features of the previous V6 panel plus many new ones. Like its predecessor, the TK7 panel is modular, so users can configure it in whatever manner works best in their workspace. The Combo module even has two different arrangements to allow a new compact layout if that’s desired. (Sean Bagshaw has a video at the bottom of this page that shows how to do this.) TK panels are used worldwide and come pre-programmed with six common languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Chinese. Users can choose the language they prefer.
The RapidMask module uses the unique Rapid Mask engine to quickly generate entire spectrums of luminosity masks and other pixel-based masks at near real time speeds. The mask-based interface calculates 16-bit masks and users see these up front to make intelligent choices about which one to use. The interface is organized with a top-to-bottom workflow that makes creating masks quick and easy. Numbered sections guide users through the process. There are several modification options including a mask calculator that allows all masks, even modified masks, to be combined in unique ways. The goal in creating these styles was to focus around the colors and qualities that resonate with me across a variety of shooting scenarios. I’m typically drawn towards strong yet refined contrast as well as complementary colors, and so that’s what these styles really focus on and draw from. Rather than aim for extreme variances between them, I wanted to keep them all within the same family so each one feels like a natural progression as you explore them on your own images. One area I find that we all struggle with, is to achieve a pleasing and neutral skin tone, and for that I created two skin correcting actions. These actions are meant to take advantage of Capture One’s ability to apply styles to layers, so that their opacity can be backed off as needed in order to work for the widest range of skin tones possible. My hope is that they not only save you time but also serve as a source of inspiration for further manipulation and experimentation.

My inspiration for these Styles came from my favorite locations; Dubai, New York, Los Angeles and Cape Town. I’m travelling a lot throughout the year, but I always try to come back to my favorite places. Every single one of these places have something unique to it. May it be a special color palette or simply how it makes me feel. I tried to put all of that in this Style Pack of looks and basically transport the mood that I’m in when I’m shooting in Cape Town or under the Californian sun. When I am finishing my images the look and feel add as much to the image and my creative vision as for example the model’s pose or the styling so, grading is a very important step for me to communicate what I have in mind when I’m taking photographs.

Sync Checker is a diagnostic application which can check if two folders or disks are perfectly synchronized, i.e. if they have exactly the same contents. When creating backup copies of valuable files, or when making sure that two computers or mobile devices work on the same set of data, the status of being “in perfect sync” can be very important. In order to be safe and to prevent loss of data, you can let Sync Checker verify whether a pair of file collections are matching exactly or not.
In other situations, it might be interesting to find differences between file sets. For example, you might like to know which files have changed on your computer, comparing a Time Machine backup of last Friday with one of last Tuesday.
After performing a sync check, Sync Checker will either confirm that all files are identical, or it will present all detected mismatches. You can browse through the differing items, analyzing exactly where a mismatch occurred, and if the differences are critical or negligible. Filter tools help you to navigate through large sets of mismatching objects. You can also create a textual report of the results which can be printed or exported.

How Does It Work?
Scaler is a plugin instrument capable of outputting MIDI as well as audio. With regard to the latter, a piano, guitars, strings and several sampled synth sounds are built in for scratch work, so you can quickly get a chord progression together for export as a MIDI file entirely within it.
Obviously, though, the idea is to trigger other instruments via Scaler, and how this is set up depends on the host DAW. For VST hosts, Scaler loads as an instrument plugin onto a MIDI track, the output of which is sent to a second track (hosting the target instrument) using the DAW’s routing system.
For Audio Unit hosts (ie, Logic Pro), the included ScalerControl MIDI effect plugin is loaded up instead. This is identical to the regular Scaler, but sits in front of the target instrument on the same track, outputting MIDI directly to it. It’s certainly the more elegant of the two approaches, although it only captures the raw triggering notes to the track, not the chords output by the plugin.

We have extended the capabilities of our already powerful search engine with search prefixes, like tags: and name:, to allow constructing more focused searches. Working with annotations and navigating PDFs is now easier and more efficient. A new OCR engine transforms scans into searchable PDFs faster and more accurate, the rewritten web interface supports teams with user and access permission management, and the new Sorter makes it easier than ever to add new data to DEVONthink. PDFs and images can also be imprinted with custom data, including Bates numbering. And if privacy is your concern: encrypted databases keep your data securely locked away from prying eyes.
In addition to the wealth of new features, DEVONthink has maintained and improved the core technologies you’ve relied on in previous versions. To make it easier to get started with DEVONthink, we have also thoroughly revised and rewritten the documentation, providing a handy and quickly accessible reference.
