Known issues:
Exports with motion blur leaks memory. On high end machines, this may not be noticed, but on lower end or older machines, it could lock up ScreenFlow. We plan to fix this in a 9.0.1 hotfix as soon as possible.
Adding a Stock Media Library to the clip editor and then the timeline when you have not purchased the Stock Media Library, will show a catalog error rather than a message to inform you that Stock Media Library requires purchase.
SSDReporter is an application that checks the health of your internal solid state drives (“SSD” aka “Flash Storage”). Since SSDs have a limited life-time determined by the number of write operations, it is important to keep an eye on your SSD status. SSDReporter can warn you by e-mail or on-screen each time the health of your SSD decreases and/or when the health falls below the ‘warning’ or ‘error’ thresholds. The current status of your SSDs is also always easily recognizable because SSDReporter changes its icon (optionally in the menubar) from green to yellow (warning threshold) and finally red (error threshold) as the SSD health decreases. Note that only ‘internal’ SSDs are supported, disks connected via USB/FireWire/Thunderbolt/etc do not work with SSDReporter.

PatterNodes is a tool for creating graphical patterns, animations, gradients, or illustrations based on repetitions. This is done by defining a sequence of steps, a recipe of sorts, that describes the pattern. Each pattern element or operation is represented by a little panel called a node, and the nodes are then linked by connections drawn between them. As the nodes can be freely combined and connected, this gives you a very flexible and powerful interface.
While this interface requires a different way of thinking, it also offers a lot of benefits compared to traditional Illustrator-type editors. Most importantly it enables you to use sliders to instantly change any aspect, like color, spacing, scaling, rotation or repetition count of any part of the pattern without having to undo/redo any steps. You can also specify animation value ranges for any of these parameters.
The resulting pattern tile is always shown in the bottom preview view, repeated and updating in real time with any changes, giving you instant feedback of what the end result will be. To make pattern creation easier PatterNodes also includes a lot of nodes that automatically perform common tedious tasks like repeating elements at the tile edges to make the pattern seamless, or randomizing different aspects (like color, position, rotation, etc.) of the elements in a pattern to give it a little more life. Finally, when you’re done you can simply copy the pattern tile into whatever illustration or graphics application you use, or export it either as vector graphics or a bitmap image file. Hue Shift. Shift the hue of your shapes by a configurable amount. (Available for MacOS 10.13 or later).
Flip. You can flip your shapes vertical or horizontal, using the flip axis of either the canvas, processed shapes, or the shape itself.
Fill, which lets you change the color a shape fills with (and if it fills at all).
Stroke, which lets you change if a shape draws a stroke, how wide it is, and the color.
Blend Mode, which will change the blend / compositing mode for all processed shapes.
And finally, if you double click on the canvas when Shape Processors are active, it will now bring up the Shape Processor palette.
Other New Things
The Mask to Alpha filter has a new invert invert colors option. Normally mask to alpha will convert the black areas of your image to transparent, and the white to opaque (with gray somewhere in-between). With the new Invert Colors option, Mask to Alpha will now convert the white areas of your image to transparent, and keep the black opaque. This is great if you are scanning line line drawings from your own artwork, and want to make the backgrounds transparent.
Minor Stuff
Acorn does a bit of database cleanup now by default when saving in the Acorn image format, which will result in smaller files in some cases.
Color profiles are now included with PSD exports (thanks to the folks at The Iconfactory for the patch!)
When resizing your image to something rather larger than normal, Acorn will ask to make sure that’s what you wanted to do. (Acorn already did this for new documents, but it’s super handy when resizing or changing your canvas size as well).
Improvements to PSD export.
Pasting an image into the New Image window will create a new image with the contents of the paste. This has always been the case. The new thing is that any open New Image windows will now close.
The Save Panel brought some old tricks back! If you Save a new image, or Save As… an existing image and enter the file name and type out a changed extension, Acorn will notice and auto-select the right file type from the format popup. This had been broken on 10.15 and sandboxed versions of Acorn previously. But no more! (Hat tip to Rich Siegel for the workaround).
The Edit ▸ Fill… command now picks the right fill color to use (instead of possibly the stroke) from the tool palette color well. (Also- in case you didn’t already know, pressing Option-Delete will automatically fill a bitmap layer with the current fill color. It’s a nice shortcut to have around).
Minor and mysterious QOL fixes involving fonts, color profile sheets, pixel tool drawing, and redrawing on 10.15.

Acorn now clamps the edges of a selection when a feather is being applied. This helps for when you take a selection with a feather and invert it, causing the edges to be feathered when that wasn’t exactly expected.

Added new capability for editing Bezier curves and paths. Cmd and Option buttons have new vertex editing modifications. Cmd and Option will modify to insert a vertex in a Path (Path being a Bezier of straight, non curved, segments). Cmd and Option will modify to extend either end of an open Bezier path or curve. Hold down the modifier key then click on the target vertex and drag, the newly inserted vertex will drag and follow mouse movements. For end point extension Cmd extends a linear segment with control points. For end point extension Option extends a curved segment. For a path Cmd adds the vertex after the vertex, Option adds the point before the vertex. Cmd and Option drag of a non-end point vertex for a Bezier curve does not insert a vertex, the modifier keys cause adjacent control points to move with the vertex.
Fixed SVG import for SVG content that contains a single point Bezier path or line. Previously EazyDraw printed an error message and failed the conversion. Several browsers were tested and they accept the file, therefore it seems that EazyDraw should accept the drawing.
Fixed SVG export of rotated text when using outlines for text (no fonts or glyphs used for text). Rotated text was rotated twice on the export. This is now fixed.
Fixed a problem with grid color for users running on older versions of macOS (10.13). EazyDraw 9 had progressed to use Catalogue colors for the grid default colors which provides better future support for wide gamut displays. But madOS 10.13 is older and did not properly handle the new grid color . Grids sometimes would open and not be seen until the drawing was saved and re-opened on macOS 10.13. This is now all fixed. The correction still provides full support for wide gamut display colors on macOS 10.14 and 10.15.
Fixed bug with the Snap popup menu found on right side of the Attributes bar. The popup menu did not work if the Align to Grid palette had not ben opened. Now the menu always works, even if the Align to Grid palette is not open and has never been opened.
Export iconset did not properly select the content for the individual icons. The problem was introduced with recent changes to support wide gamut colors. Export iconset now works with all png supported color space selections including p3 colors.

For added security, BetterZip will now quarantine apps extracted from archives. You can disable this in the preferences.

Better handling of Windows zip archives with non-latin character sets.
Change the encoding of open archives without reopening them.
BetterZip will now ask for the correct encoding, when it cannot be determined automatically.
The info pane in the preview sidebar now shows more details. When no files are selected, general archive information is displayed.
Better visibility when errors occur during queued operations, even if you choose to ignore the errors and continue. And the Reveal button in the queue window will open the transcript window in this case.
Favorites sidebar: Added options to not show archive count badges and to disable file browsing, for users who use it as quick and simple extraction drop target only.
Enhanced the logic of opening file packages (most importantly apps) with a double click. BetterZip will now only navigate into the package, if the option “File packages are expandable” in the View menu is toggled on. Otherwise it will either extract and open the package or do whatever you specified in Preferences > Files. Holding down the cmd key will toggle the behavior temporarily.
When previewing an app in an archive, its icon, version, and copyright string are extracted and displayed.
BetterZip now lets you save all the settings in the save panel as a preset. Use the new gear button for this. Loading presets has been moved to this button as well.
When quitting BetterZip while archive operations are running, you are asked whether you really want to quit. This warning can be suppressed.
Password panels allow you to show the entered password, even when not using the password manager.
Added a command to completely reset the password manager in case you forgot the master password.
When you load a preset in the save panel that has a password set, you can now use that password or clear it to enter a new one. You also get the chance to set a new password when doing a “save as…” command with an encrypted archive.
More accurate progress bars for all operations.
Added a tab for the configuration of default settings for the BetterZip Quick Look Generator in the preferences window. macOS Catalina rendered all other means of remembering settings for QL generators defunct. The QL generator is still free for all (i.e., no BetterZip license required) and free users can also use the app to set default settings without problems.

An option has been added to remove all images of a file.
Files that have been added to PDF Squeezer before can now be added again should the file have changed.
You can now double click the files in the sidebar and main area to open the original in a viewer or save the compressed file.

Clicking the save button now opens a save dialog if the original file is a PDF attachments, a. File from the print dialog and another temporary file.
