Script Debugger 8 introduces a suite of new editing commands that operate on lines: Move Up, Move Down, Insert Before, Insert After, Cut, Copy, Delete and Duplicate. Like all menu commands in Script Debugger, you can assign your own keyboard shortcuts to these commands. This change makes script editing even faster, especially when coming from other editors which offer these commands.

No More Debug Documents
Previous versions of Script Debugger saved scripts with debugging enabled in a special format to facilitate something we called external debugging, which allowed scripts to be debugged while running within other applications. While external debugging was useful in some situations, users were often caught out when distributing scripts with debugging enabled because the file format required Script Debugger be present.

Security changes introduced in macOS Mojave and later rendered Script Debugger’s external debugging feature inoperable. For Script Debugger 8 we’ve removed external debugging and now all scripts are saved in the standard script format, guaranteeing scripts can be easily shared.

Direct Export
Script Debugger 8 introduces a new workflow for exporting run-only applications. By storing all related settings in documents of any script format, exporting becomes a one-click process, while new destination options offer greater convenience in organizing and tracking changes as scripts are updated.

SSL Proxying
Charles can act as a man-in-the-middle for HTTP/SSL communication, enabling you to debug the content of your HTTPS sessions.

Bandwidth Throttling
Charles simulates modem speeds by effectively throttling your bandwidth and introducing latency, so that you can experience an entire website as a modem user might (bandwidth simulator).

AJAX
Charles is useful for XML development in web browsers, such as AJAX (Asynchronous javascript and XML) and XMLHTTP, as it enables you to see the actual XML that is flowing between the client and the server. Browser & System Configuration

Windows Proxy Settings
Charles can automatically configure the Windows proxy settings so that Internet Explorer and other Windows applications automatically start using Charles. By default Charles will configure and then reconfigure the Windows proxy settings whenever Charles is started or quit.

Charles proxy configuration behaviour can be changed in Charles in the Proxy Menu, Proxy Settings dialog.

The Windows proxy settings are configured in the Internet Options control panel on the Connections tab if you want to look at them yourself.

Microsoft Edge has an additional setting that you may need to make by browsing to about:flags and enabling Allow localhost loopback. This is required in order to connect to Charles Proxy running on localhost.

The Setup
Divisimate 2 runs either as a standalone application or as a plugin within your DAW. The software creates 32 virtual midi ports which you can select as input for any instrument in your sequencer.

When you set up a template, this allows Divisimate to address every instrument individually. Divisimate will then interpret your midi input and distribute parts across your template.

The Divisi Engine
Select the number of voices you want to perform and split up chords into individual musical notes. Choose from three different Divisi Modes that change the way notes are distributed across the voices.

Modify
After notes are assigned to their output ports, there are a couple of plugins you can use to modify the output.

– With the Transposer you can transpose notes multiple semitones or octaves up or down. It can either operate chromatically or locked to a fully customizable global scale.

– The Arpeggiator allows you to design intricate patterns, textures and phrases. Dedicated lanes give you control over dynamic CC envelopes and in the expert mode you can even transpose different notes of your pattern individually. The possibilities are endless.

– Many virtual instruments change articulations using keswitches or specific controller data. When the Trigger is initialized, it can send specific notes or controller data to your instrument. This way you can change articulations of many instruments at once and recall them with the orchestration.

– Not all instruments are equal in an orchestration. The Transformer allows you to change the dynamic response, note ranges, and other crucial aspects of your parts to suit your musical vision.

– Do you just want to add some rhythm? As the smaller predecessor of the arpeggiator, the repeater plugin provides a quick and simple tool to repeat incoming notes and create simple patterns.

When KORG released the limited- edition ARP 2600 FS in 2020, they sold out immediately world-wide. Now, KORG is pleased to present the first truly accurate software re-creation of this essential synthesizer: the KORG Collection ARP 2600.

KORG’s proprietary CMT technology faithfully reproduces the distinctive waveforms and filters, the custom LFO and envelope shapes, the many subtle nonlinearities, even the behavior of the patch panel – unlike any other 2600 software instrument. Thanks to this obsessive attention to detail, you can open the original ARP 2600 Patch Book (available as a free PDF on KORG’s website), hook up each of the 100 patches on screen, and they will sound just like an authentic ARP 2600 – something that no other 2600 plug-in can do.

Bringing the 2600 into the modern age
Preserving the fantastic sound quality, incredible flexibility, and quirky attitude of the original was only the beginning. To truly honor the legacy of this legendary instrument, we asked ourselves: if ARP redesigned the 2600 today, what would it be like? In response we made many improvements, including adding a second filter, a drive section, new modulation sources, extensive MIDI control, a sophisticated sequencer, up to 16-voice polyphony, and much more – all while keeping the spirit of the original ARP 2600 design.

Beauty in the details
Our engineers spent considerable time understanding every detail of the original and modern schematics, poring over the original 2600 manuals, testing with oscilloscopes, and most importantly listening.The original AR and ADSR envelopes, for example, might seem simple – but it took a lot of time and tweaking to get them just right. The oscillator waveforms are correct, including the slight imperfections that add a unique brightness (especially for the triangle and sine). We modeled both of the original VCF modules, the 4012 and the 4072, with a switch to select between them. We included all of the many saturation points on the original hardware, with subtle distortions that bring life to the sound. Extensive anti-aliasing techniques spread throughout the different modules let us deliver truly premium audio quality. KORG’s Component Modeling Technology (CMT) includes variations between analog components, just as you’d find with multiple hardware 2600s, to deliver natural richness when playing polyphonically.

Outside the patch panel, there are 20-odd Trim Pots to select between behaviors of different 2600 vintages, dial in calibration details such as square wave width and triangle wave symmetry (just like the original hardware), and more.

Preserving and expanding the 2600 spirit
Even more than most vintage synths, the 2600 has a character all its own. To begin with, no two sections are alike; each has its own purpose (often more than one) and capabilities to match. Each of the three VCOs has different features.The two envelopes work very differently. There are many hidden quirks, such as different ranges for identical-looking control inputs, phase inversions, and unusual waveforms. It’s a carefully considered instrument, but it also feels like a collection of bespoke modules. The differences guide the eye, and also simply make it fun to play around with. There’s a constant sense of discovery, of “wow, I can make it do that, too!”

When adding all of the new capabilities, we were determined to preserve the spirit of the original instrument. So, we resisted the modern urge to unify and standardize. Each of the VCOs is still different. When we added an envelope and an LFO, we made sure that they were different from the originals, enabling new sounds instead of just “more.” When we added a second filter, we made it entirely different from the main VCF. Each new feature speaks with its own voice. All of the additions have sensible normalled connections, incorporating the new LFO, envelope, and sequencer.

We also kept all of the controls of the original instrument, and even with all of the additions, we preserved the basic layout. If you’re familiar with the old 2600, or KORG’s new 2600 FS and 2600 M, you’ll feel right at home – but with even more to play with.

Improved workflow for initial installation of sound data; the user only needs to select a destination folder if installing to a non-default location.
Factory data is now downloaded to a temporary file on disk instead of into RAM. This should improve reliability for rare cases in which the user’s computer did not have sufficient free RAM for the download.
New modeling of Key Tracking nonlinearity. Hardware 2600s do not have perfect key-tracking for pitch and filter cutoff; this can add interesting dimensions to sounds, particularly for special effects. The new KeyTrk Nonlinearity Trim Pot adjusts nonlinearity for CVs 1 and 2, Osc 1-3, and filter cutoff. This is accompanied by a new Voice Variation control, Key Tracking, which adjusts the variation of nonlinearity between voices. Both controls default to 0, so that existing sounds are not affected.
MIDI Mapping is improved in several ways. Previously, inactive mappings (to un-selected effects or electric piano types, for instance) were hidden; now they are always displayed. The effect type is now included in the parameter name. MIDI Mapping for effects enable is now common to the effect slot, rather than being independent per effect type.
In the Librarian, if a Collection is selected and then all of its items are deleted or moved out of the Collection, the Collection name is now removed from the filters list.
When undoing an import action, the message now reads “Please wait…”
Automation of 2- and 3-way switches now plays back properly.
Previously, the Import and Export progress dialogs might not have closed properly. This has now been fixed.
Previously, if the user edited a Set List, closed the Set List window, and then used Undo, a crash could occur. This has now been fixed.
Previously, “Settings > Check now…” for new version resulted in a communication error in the effect version, ARP 2600 FX. This has now been fixed.

The default Open and Save dialogs included by default in macOS don’t have too many customization options. Default Folder X is a small utility that can help you personalize the entire experience by adding new locations, Spotlight tags, comments, and many more options.

Access favorite folders from the status bar and create your own folders lists
The Default Folder X status bar menu offers you the possibility to navigate to your default, favorite, and recent folders. At the same time, the menu also allows you to view all opened Finder windows and bring any of them forward.

The Default Folder X preferences can be adjusted via a Preferences Pane that will be added to your Systems Preferences. Here you can add specific directories to be used by default with certain applications. Furthermore, you can create your own Favorite Folders list.
