A menu bar color picker for Mac by Olá Brothers that lets designers and developers capture hues from anywhere on screen, organize them into palettes, and paste values in the format each app expects.

Sip sits out of the way until you need it, then opens a magnifier-style picker with shortcuts for single colors, multi-pick sessions, and direct sends to tools like Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, and Xcode. Smart Formats detect the frontmost application and switch copy output to CSS, Swift UIColor, Android XML, or custom formats you define. Palettes support sub-palettes, locking, merging, sorting, and sharing for team workflows.

Workflow features in Sip 5

Version 5 rebuilt the app with a faster Retina-ready picker, a dedicated main window for deeper editing, and a Color Dock that pins palettes to any screen edge. The Color Panel offers HEX, RGB, HSB, HSL, and alpha controls; Smart Profiles apply the correct color profile when sampling from browsers versus native apps; and accessibility tools include contrast checking plus color-blindness simulation (protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia, achromatopsia). Snapshots, cloud sync via Sign in with Apple, and URL schemes help move colors between devices and automation scripts.

Licensing and platform

Sip requires macOS Sonoma or later according to the developer documentation. A 15-day trial counts active use days; licenses start at $29.99 per device for one year of updates, with volume discounts and 70%-off renewal extensions. You can keep using the last licensed build after updates expire. Version 5.0.2 is a minor release on the Sip 5 line with macOS Golden Gate beta compatibility and stability fixes.
