How Downie fits your workflow

Paste a URL, use the Safari, Chrome, or Firefox extension, or drag a link into Downie to start a download. Pick quality up to 4K where the source allows, grab subtitles when available, and let postprocessing convert files to MP4 for iPhone or extract audio only for podcasts and music.

Beyond basic downloading

Version 4.12.8 requires macOS 11 or later (macOS 13+ is strongly recommended) on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. This maintenance release improves several major sites and fixes a SABR live-stream issue documented in the official release notes. Downie sells as a one-time license with a free trial and is not available on the Mac App Store.
