Mitti is a video cue software that delivers extensive control over the audio and video input and output sources, can work with different cue types and gives extensive control over each resource included in your project.

Video cue software that can deal with content coming from various sources

To start working on a Mitti project, you first need to import the visual content you want to include in the visual presentation. Mitti is able to load video or image files, but you can also connect cameras or Syphon or NDI servers.

You get to import files or folder to the Mitti playlist with drag and drop, and the same rule applies if you wish to reorder the list. Note that each entry comes with its own control bar that enables you to customize the output further.

Adjust the image color, rely on built-in video effects, and get control over the audio output

Via the Mitti Cue Settings panel, you get to adjust the image opacity, brightness, or contrast, and adjust the red, green, and blue proportions. The app also sports an extensive collection of video effects and enables you to set a custom title to each cue.

In addition, you get to toggle the audio, add fade in or fade out effects, replace the visual source, or put the respective cue on loop. Make sure to navigate to the project’s Preferences if you want to adjust the SMPTE frame rate, the fade duration, the timecode input, the audio input, and so on.

Prepare visual representations to be displayed on multiple screens and deliver visual content from multiple sources

Mitti is a video cue software that enables you to prepare video and audio performances ahead of the event. The app can work with video or image files, or you can configure camera or Syphon or NDI servers cues.

What’s more, Mitti can send data to Blackmagic DeckLink or NDI compatible devices or to a Syphon server. The app can also be controlled from a remote location by using the MMC or MSC protocols, or MIDI controllers.

Websites are usually storing HTTP cookies in your web browser to help them receive notifications about your previous activity in an attempt to provide a streamlined and user friendly browsing experience. On the other hand, tracking cookies have access your personal browsing history, which can lead to privacy issues.

Cookie is an unobtrusive Mac application that is able to monitor your online activity and automatically deletes tracking cookies from your browser periodically. After the initial setup, Cookie is able to work completely in the background, protecting your privacy without requiring any user interaction.

User friendly Setup Wizard

To get you started, Cookie comes with a Setup Wizard that enables you to make all the necessary settings. Right off the bat, the application asks you which browsers should be monitored: Cookie scans you system for installed web browsers and provides a list of supported apps.

The next step is to specify the websites for which you want to keep the cookies files: the HTTP cookies are necessary for webpages that you visit frequently, for which you have an user account, and so on. At the same time, you get to quickly remove the cookies for all non-favorite websites, and specify that all tracking cookies should be blocked.

Clear your browser cache and remove the unwanted data

Moreover, Cookie can help you delete the cache, history, favicons, webpage previews, form values, and downloads, for all your web browsers, with the click of a mouse. To make sure the browsers remain clean, Cookie is able to perform the clean up periodically, or if certain specifications are met.

Cookie will reside either in your status bar or in your Dock and you get to tweak any of these settings via its Preferences window in no time. Furthermore, the app allows you to run the Setup Wizard again any time you like.

Overview

Developed initially as an open source project, Smultron is an intuitive word processor that can be used to edit text documents but also files that contain code written in various programming languages.

Noteworthy is that Smultron comes with different versions for specific operating systems, e.g. Smultron 10 is compatible with macOS 10.12 Sierra, Smultron 8 will work on OS X 10.11 El Capitan, Smultron 7 is designed to work on OS X 10.10 Yosemite, and so on.

Intuitive and organized user interface

At the same time, on the Smultron Sourceforge project page, thedevelopment team still provides download links for older Smultronversions, which are still compatible with the latest macOS releases.

As with any word processor, most of Smultron’s main window is reserved for the text editing area, but the app also retains some space for managing your documents in case the “Merge All Windows” option is selected.

However, the vast majority of the text editing capabilities can be accessed by navigating the Smultron menus. Last but not least, Smultron includes a powerful search tool that can help you find exactly what you need.

Numerous syntax color codes and iCloud integration

Smultron provides various themes and syntax coloring support for more than 100 programming languages. By analyzing the file extension, Smultron determines the correct syntax mode and highlights certain expressions, text snippets, commands and much more. Since the document lines are numbered automatically, Smultron is great when you need to edit code.

You are able to use your iCloud account to sync the documents your are working on to various devices, but the great part is that Smultron also syncs the Commands, Snippets and Themes: this way you can use the same settings anywhere you go.

Powerful word processor

Even though the Smultron user interface is rather minimalist, the applications comes with a plethora of very useful tools when it comes to processing both text and code.

Overview

Markster keeps your internet bookmarks in a central store. People use Markster because either:

  • The internal bookmarks facilities (Bookmarks Bar, Bookmarks Menu, Favorites Bar, etc.) in their web browser(s) do not meet their feature expectations.
  • They use more than one web browser, and prefer to keep all their bookmarks in a separate app, independent of the web browsers, instead of syncing the browsers’ internal bookmarks facilities together.

When Markster users want to visit a bookmark they have previously stored, or add a new bookmark, instead of reaching for the Bookmarks Bar or Bookmarks Menu in the browser, they bring up Markster’s Floating Menu. Markster provides three ways to do that:

App Uninstaller is a simple yet efficient macOS utility that can detect all the files associated with an installation and helps you eliminate them from your disk with minimal effort.

Scan your Mac for installed apps and remove them correctly

Right off the bat, in the App Uninstaller main window, you get to see the list of apps currently deployed on your Mac. The app encourages you to select one of the utilities either to remove it or simply to see all the associated service files.

For your convenience, App Uninstaller allows you to sort the list of apps ascending or descending and by different criteria: name, size, date, or selected.

At the same time, App Uninstaller assigns a check box to each element, so you can decide if you want to remove all the files or only some of the items. The app also included select/deselect all buttons, and helps you mark for deletion only the service files.

Overview

BetterZip lets you quickly inspect archives without first extracting their contents.

  • Extract Only Files You Really Need: If you only need a few files or folders from a larger archive, you don’t have to extract the whole thing. Simply drag the files you need from the BetterZip window to any Finder window or the desktop.
  • Open Archives Without Extracting: Not only can BetterZip open archives without first extracting them but you can also search for a file using the iTunes-like interface. BetterZip can open and extract archives with the most common formats: ZIP, SIT, TAR, XAR, XZ, GZip, BZip2, RAR, 7-Zip, CPIO, ARJ, LZH/LHA, JAR, WAR, CAB, ISO, CHM, RPM, DEB, NSIS, BIN, HQX, DMG, EPUB, and Winmail.dat.
  • Create Archives: Simply drag files and folders from your hard drives, disks, or network places into your new zip file. You no longer have to copy all the files into a temporary folder first. The supported formats are ZIP, TAR, GZip and BZip2 compressed TAR, XAR, 7-ZIP, and RAR (using the external RAR commandline tool). Large archives can also be split.
  • Protect Your Data: BetterZip can protect your data with a password and create AES-256 encrypted archives. 7-zip and rar archives can also be protected.
  • Update Archives: Add new or updated files to existing archives. Remove any file or folder from an archive, or even move files around inside the archive as if it were a normal folder.
  • Make Archives Compatible: Strip Mac-specific files and resource forks from archives for best compatibility with systems like Windows or Linux.

What’s New in BetterZip 4.1 (1305)

  • Configure which apps to use to open which file types when viewing and how to treat them in the preview (e.g., as text)
  • Major rewrite of the password manager:
    • Passwords are now stored AES-256 encrypted in the preferences file instead of the macOS keychain, keeping your passwords safe, but making it easier to completely copy your BetterZip setup from one Mac to another or using a common set of passwords in a multi-user environment. The transformation will be done automatically.
    • Additionally, the passwords can now be locked and unlocked with the master password for increased security. Configure when BetterZip should lock your passwords in the preferences window.
    • The password manager’s “Import” function became “Edit Passwords as Text”, which allows you to edit all passwords as text and copy them to the clipboard for external save keeping, e.g., in a text file that you put in an encrypted zip file, or in a secure note in your favorite password manager (e.g., 1Password).
Improved
  • The exclude patterns field in the presets configuration and the save panel is now a drop-down combobox that lets you either select one of your already used patterns or enter a new one.
  • For easier deployment in multi-user environments, user folders in presets are now stored abbreviated with the tilde in the preferences file.
  • I added an option in the Advanced section of the preferences to not automatically load the toolbar preset in the save panel when using a standard Save command, either from the menu, the toolbar or by pressing ⌘S on the keyboard.
  • BetterZip now forces the queue window to the front when starting from a service.
  • Included the latest unrar library (version 5.5.8).
  • QL generators have a limited amount of memory and will be shut down if they exceed that limit. This could affect the BetterZip QL generator when previewing archives with many files (more than 10,000 or so). To prevent this problem, the item count is now limited to the first 10,000 files and folders and the head section of the preview now shows the full count.
  • BetterZip no longer displays an annoying warning message when you cancel saving.
  • I have brought back the option to subscribe to the beta version channel in the auto-updater. Activate it on the „General” tab in the BetterZip preferences.
  • When opening a damaged rar archive and having the external rar helper installed, you now have the option to open the archive without trying to repair it.
Fixed
  • Services for presets with ampersands (&) in their name would lead Finder to display an error message.
  • tar.gz extraction was still not working correctly in some cases when using the queue.
  • Misnamed compressed tar files (e.g., a tar.gz file missing the .gz in the extension) would crash BetterZip during extraction.
  • Custom folder Icons were not zipped/restored correctly.
  • Better handling of cpio/cpgz files with resource forks or metadata.
  • Removing a favorite from the sidebar didn’t immediately update the sidebar.
  • QL:Encrypted archives didn’t show the archive icon
  • Cancelling rar creation crashed BetterZip.
  • Fixed „shrink heap buffer overflow” in p7zip (CVE-2017-17969).
  • BetterZip couldn’t hide ._ files in tar files created on macOS 10.13 correctly.
  • AppleScript archive option destination:”test.zip” led to double extension test.zip.zip

The launchd service management framework is designed to launch, stop, and manage the processes, apps, agents and daemons that are running on an Apple computer.

LaunchControl is an easy to use Mac app that provides a stylish and organized GUI and allows you to take advantage of the framework’s capabilities in a more streamlined manner.

Visualize the services running on your Mac and instantly identify the invalid processes

Upon launch, LaunchControl scans your system and identifies the user, system, or global agents and daemons. The app sorts them by category and you can select the one you want to browse from a drop down menu (you might need to provide the admin passkey).

The LaunchControl main window is organized in three main areas: a left side panel where you can view a list of the running services, a right side panel where you can browse the app’s collection of keys that can be added to documents, and the center section where you can visualize the configurations key content.

Filter, disable or downright delete services that you don’t need and create new ones

LaunchControl offers you the possibility to visualize the content of the launchd configuration keys, and even offers you the possibility to edit their content. The application is providing support for most launchd functions, and even enables you to edit the configuration keys in expert mode.

However, if the key does not work properly, simply disable the service, or remove it completely. Note that LaunchControl does not stop the process instantly, but it will remove it from the jobs list the next time your launch your system.

User friendly graphical interface for the launchd framework sporting intuitive management and editing capabilities

LaunchControl offers you the possibility to quickly identify the launchd configuration keys that are not working properly, and enables you to edit, disable, or simply delete them. Moreover, the app includes a collection of over 30 different configuration keys that you can easily add to your services via simple drag and drop actions.

DAEMON Tools is an unobtrusive macOS application designed to help you mount CD, DVD, or HDD disc images on your Apple computer. For your convenience, the DAEMON Tools app resides in the Dock or in the status bar, but you can also define global hotkeys for mounting and unmounting discs.

User friendly disc mounting solution featuring an intuitive design

The DAEMON Tools user interface is represented by a small status bar menu and a well organized main window where you can see the list of imported disk images. As a result, finding your way around the app is fairly intuitive.

Noteworthy is that you have the option to personalize the app’s behavior via the Preferences window: you can change the DVD default region, you can choose to re-mount the images on start-up, to disable the confirmation messages, or to define global hotkeys for frequently used functions.

Unobtrusive software solution designed to work with a wide collection of disc formats

DAEMON Tools is able to mount various disc formats, such as B5T, B6T, BWT, CCD, CDI, BIN, CUE, APE, FLAC, ISO, ISZ, MDS, MDF, MDX, NRG, PDI, DMG, and VHD. The actual mounting process can be launched via the app’s main window, or you can simply drag and drop the images on top of the Dock icon.

At the same time, DAEMON Tools can be employed to access remote devices by using the iSCSI protocol. Note that once the images are mounted, your Finder will see them as ordinary discs, and you will be able to effortlessly browse their content.
