What’s New in ColorWell 6.0

This is a huge update!
-Only 8 color drop zones was a little limiting…
now you can store unlimited colors in the new Palettes window!
-We’ve also added a new Palette Generator window so you can drag & drop any image(s) to create a color palette.
– And some more minor improvements. We made the main window more intuitive by adding small indictators to the Hex/RGB/HSL panels. so know you know exactly what each value represents. We also added an option in preferences to restore the default colors…. because why not.

Previously, another window of the same app could get activated in many cases (currently this change is only active if you have set Contexts to update to beta versions).   ・When SecureInput is enabled by any app, a warning is shown in the menu bar along with details about the app and a button to quit it.   ・Sidebar detects fullscreen windows better. Overview

A Beautiful and Intuitive Color Picker and Color Palette Generator- A necessary addition to any web/app developer’s toolbox!

It’s super easy to generate unlimited Color Palettes with quick access to all color information, and on the fly code generation for app development. The editable Palette database allows you to archive and restore any color palette for later use with super quick search.

Access to the MacOS Color Wheel can be tedious by default, but ColorWell can be configured to show it via global hotkey or a quick mouse click from your system menu bar. This allows you to quickly grab Hex/HSL/RGB and code snippets from any color source.

If you’ve ever never to quickly generate a color palette from a source (or multiple source) image(s), then the Palette Generator is exactly what you need. You can grab any source image(s) and drop them into the Generator window to generate a color palette of the most common colors present in the image(s). Of course you can save any palettes you generate in the ColorWell Palette database!

  • For apps which use the macOS window tabbing feature, up till now, Contexts has shown a separate window item for each tab. This is because for such apps macOS accessibility service (which is used for retrieving information about apps and windows) lists a separate window for each tab. With this update, these will be grouped together so that only one item is shown for each window.

  • In 3.4.1 in certain cases an extra item for an app is added to the Command-Tab switcher list. This causes the selection to become stuck between the two items for the app when using keyboard shortcuts to move down or up the list.
