  • Introducing Smart Layout: With Smart Layout, we’re making Symbols more powerful and supercharging your workflow when it comes to using them in your designs. With it, you can set a direction for Symbols to resize when you change their overrides, while keeping the spacing between different layers in that Symbol consistent. Better still, you can set different Smart Layout settings for Nested Symbols and even groups within Symbols. It’s incredibly powerful and we can’t wait to see how it’ll improve your workflow.

What’s improved:

  • We’ve made the Welcome Window better, bigger, cleaner and more snappy. You can browse your Cloud documents by Project in a new sidebar on the left, and we’ve given thumbnails plenty more space so you can see more of your documents without scrolling.
  • Along with browsing Projects in the Welcome Window, you’ll now have the option to pick a Project when you save a new Cloud document for the first time.

What’s fixed:

  • Fixed a bug where Sketch would believe you were offline and not allow you to upload new Cloud documents after you put your Mac to sleep or temporarily disconnected from the internet.
  • Fixed a bug where text overrides might reset or clear themselves if you clicked in and out of a text override field in the Inspector.
  • Fixed a bug where Symbol instances on your Canvas would not pick up changes you made to a text layer in that Symbol’s master.
  • Fixed a bug where you might see the Canvas flash if you switch from a different app to Sketch when it’s in full screen mode.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur if you created a particularly big grid.
  • Fixed a bug where resizing multiple layers with a small width or height but large distance between them would cause either their height or width to increase unexpectedly.
  • Fixed a bug where performing a Union operation on straight lines would make the combined shape disappear.
  • Fixed a bug where an artboard you hovered over wouldn’t highlight when if you were in Prototyping mode.
  • Fixed a bug where your Show Layer Selection preference would reset itself when you restart Sketch.
  • Fixed a bug that could result in Sketch failing to respond (hanging) in a few different situations. If you’ve been in touch about Sketch being unresponsive, this one is for you.
  • Fixed a few different bugs related to how nested overrides highlight when you select them on the Canvas. If you’d selected a nested override and couldn’t see it highlighted on the Canvas properly, you’ll be pleased to know this update puts that right.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause performance issues and slow things down if you selected certain Symbol masters with complex overrides.

What’s New in Yate 5.0

Bug Fixes:

  • The Episode ID field’s synthesize function was not working correctly.
  • The MusicBrainz wizard will now correctly import multiple Composers, Lyricists, Remixers and Conductors.
  • Yate was using non standard frames to store Movement Name, Movement Number and Movement Count. At least they weren’t the same non standard names that iTunes uses. This was irrelevant if you are using iTunes and auto-exporting the Classical Metadata. v5.0 reads both mappings and writes the more standard ones.
  • The Set as Key Column menu item in database viewers was not always working.
  • Opening database files via File>Open or Finder Open-With as opposed to dragging them in, potentially closed open unmodified files.
  • The Access Discogs and Access MusicBrainz statements’ custom table context menu access to the import settings manager was disabled.
  • Fixed a bogus Log>Validation Errors message in MPEG-4 files with video and long description fields.
  • If a number of files were selected of which only some were linked, Refresh iTunes would display errors for the files not linked.
  • The Beatport Importer could hang on a network error.
  • The Beatport Importer now silently ignores 404 errors when retrieving artwork.
  • The test used to determine if Safari is the default browser did not work on Mac OS 10.9.

Michael Woloszynowicz, Marie Bärsch, and Pratik Naik are all celebrated photographers and retouchers with hundreds of thousands of dedicated followers, and years of published work to their names. Their approach is at once contemporary and timeless, and they have chosen to work specifically with Capture One to create 7 Styles each that reflect their individual aesthetic.

The goal in creating these styles was to focus around the colors and qualities that resonate with me across a variety of shooting scenarios. I’m typically drawn towards strong yet refined contrast as well as complementary colors, and so that’s what these styles really focus on and draw from. Rather than aim for extreme variances between them, I wanted to keep them all within the same family so each one feels like a natural progression as you explore them on your own images. One area I find that we all struggle with, is to achieve a pleasing and neutral skin tone, and for that I created two skin correcting actions. These actions are meant to take advantage of Capture One’s ability to apply styles to layers, so that their opacity can be backed off as needed in order to work for the widest range of skin tones possible. My hope is that they not only save you time but also serve as a source of inspiration for further manipulation and experimentation.

My inspiration for these Styles came from my favorite locations; Dubai, New York, Los Angeles and Cape Town. I’m travelling a lot throughout the year, but I always try to come back to my favorite places. Every single one of these places have something unique to it. May it be a special color palette or simply how it makes me feel. I tried to put all of that in this Style Pack of looks and basically transport the mood that I’m in when I’m shooting in Cape Town or under the Californian sun. When I am finishing my images the look and feel add as much to the image and my creative vision as for example the model’s pose or the styling so, grading is a very important step for me to communicate what I have in mind when I’m taking photographs.

The mission for this pack is creating a set of colors that would be impossible to live without. With my history as a retoucher, there are common color palettes with high-end color grading that are hard to quantify in words, but easy to identify when you see it. This pack is special to me, it spans a range of looks that make for a beautiful starting point across all genres, especially fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. The variation spans the spectrum of primary and secondary colors along with two timeless black and white looks. This collection of styles will keep giving back every shoot you use them on. I can’t wait for you to explore how your images will look mixed with my palette across different conditions.

Sync Checker is a diagnostic application which can check if two folders or disks are perfectly synchronized, i.e. if they have exactly the same contents. When creating backup copies of valuable files, or when making sure that two computers or mobile devices work on the same set of data, the status of being “in perfect sync” can be very important. In order to be safe and to prevent loss of data, you can let Sync Checker verify whether a pair of file collections are matching exactly or not.

In other situations, it might be interesting to find differences between file sets. For example, you might like to know which files have changed on your computer, comparing a Time Machine backup of last Friday with one of last Tuesday.

After performing a sync check, Sync Checker will either confirm that all files are identical, or it will present all detected mismatches. You can browse through the differing items, analyzing exactly where a mismatch occurred, and if the differences are critical or negligible. Filter tools help you to navigate through large sets of mismatching objects. You can also create a textual report of the results which can be printed or exported.

The software is distributed electronically. You can download the product and test it before you decide to purchase a license for unrestricted usage.

TinkerTool System is a collection of system utility features helping you in performing advanced administration tasks on Apple Macintosh computers. How Does It Work?

Scaler is a plugin instrument capable of outputting MIDI as well as audio. With regard to the latter, a piano, guitars, strings and several sampled synth sounds are built in for scratch work, so you can quickly get a chord progression together for export as a MIDI file entirely within it.

Obviously, though, the idea is to trigger other instruments via Scaler, and how this is set up depends on the host DAW. For VST hosts, Scaler loads as an instrument plugin onto a MIDI track, the output of which is sent to a second track (hosting the target instrument) using the DAW’s routing system.

For Audio Unit hosts (ie, Logic Pro), the included ScalerControl MIDI effect plugin is loaded up instead. This is identical to the regular Scaler, but sits in front of the target instrument on the same track, outputting MIDI directly to it. It’s certainly the more elegant of the two approaches, although it only captures the raw triggering notes to the track, not the chords output by the plugin.

What’s New in DEVONthink Pro 3.0

This long-awaited release debuts many exciting new features and improvements including: a new integrated user interface, custom metadata, reminders, and new automation options that are even accessible to non-programmers.

We have extended the capabilities of our already powerful search engine with search prefixes, like tags: and name:, to allow constructing more focused searches. Working with annotations and navigating PDFs is now easier and more efficient. What’s New in Jump Desktop (RDP, VNC, Fluid) 8.2.22

This update fixes graphical issues on Mojave 10.14.5. Here was what was new in 8.2.19:

  • Performance improvements: Jump uses a brand new renderer on macOS 10.13 and later. This results in faster performance and better battery life.
  • Dynamic resolution switching for Fluid connections: Jump can now dynamically update the remote resolution to match your local Mac’s resolution.

Scudo is a hybrid firewall for macOS that combines an inbound network-layer packet filter with an outbound application-layer firewall. Scudo helps protecting your Mac’s network services from unwanted connections from remote computers and improves your privacy and security controlling all apps network activities, allowing you to choose which app is allowed to connect to the network.

Jettison automatically ejects external disks from your Mac before your computer goes to sleep.

Simplify those last few seconds when you grab your MacBook and run out the door. Just close the lid and Jettison will automatically eject your backup drive, iPod, or whatever is connected so you can safely unplug it. What’s New in BBEdit 12.6.7

Additions:

  • BBEdit 12.6.7 does not add any new features. (It doesn’t take away any, either.)

Changes:

  • Made a change to ask the OS-provided print panel to place the page attribute controls (orientation, scaling, paper size) in the panel proper, rather than hiding them behind the “Page Attributes” section in the popup menu

Fixes:

  • The application could crash when clicking in a text view, given certain unexpected internal state
  • Worked around a system windowing behavior which would cause the following unexpected behavior: when starting the application in which the saved state specified a window in full screen mode, if the application was started by opening a document that wasn’t previously open in that window, the document being opened (and any other such additional documents) would open into a separate window
  • The default printing timestamp setting was not applied correctly to the Print panel’s settings when printing a document
  • Worked around file system behavior on macOS 10.15 in which files written into TMPDIR and then passed to BBEdit for comparison would disappear when clicking on the file’s contents in the Differences window. (For example, temp revision files created by git difftool or svn diff.)
  • Quitting the application while open documents were waiting to process a change notification from the ctags subsystem
  • Hang when spell-checking documents and the effective language module indicated that a particular range of text was to be skipped
  • The cursor would alternate between an I-beam and an arrow while dragging out a text selection
  • Certain edits within a “PHP in HTML” source file would set up a situation in which subsequent edits would cause syntax coloring to get confused (typically manifesting as uncolored text after a certain point in the document)
  • Trying to save a change to a file in a Zip archive would report a 12612 error if the Zip archive file didn’t actually have a file name extension
  • The internal SFTP client didn’t properly clean up after itself when disconnecting. Eventually this would lead to errors when attempting to perform SFTP operations
  • Disk browsers would sometimes fail to open the selected file for viewing, following certain manipulations of the list (such as twisting a folder open or closed, or refreshing an opened folder with a different number of items) and depending on the relative placement of selected items
