Photo RAW handles the full pipeline: import and organize shoots, develop RAW files with non-destructive adjustments, apply AI-assisted masking (Super Select AI, mask layers), and finish with the Effects module, Resize AI enlargement, NoNoise AI, and Brilliance AI tone tools. The 2026 cycle added overhauled AI masking, creative filters such as Depth Lighting and Double Exposure, built-in Resize AI models, and a redesigned Home module for faster access to recent work.

The MAX edition includes everything in standard Photo RAW plus Restore AI for faded or damaged photos and plugin support inside Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Capture One, Affinity Photo, and Apple Photos. Perpetual licenses cover free updates within the 2026 product year; subscriptions add cloud sync and more activations.

Hardware and integration

ON1 recommends macOS 15 or later and M2 Apple Silicon or better for comfortable AI workloads, with macOS 13 minimum, 8 GB RAM (32 GB recommended), Metal graphics, and about 6 GB install space. Internet is required for activation, component downloads, and optional ON1 Cloud Sync.

Build 2026.5 (v20.5.0.19010, July 28, 2026) is a free update for 2026 license holders. It modernizes the AI inference and GPU rendering engines, speeds startup and shutdown, improves the background Component Manager, adds camera and lens profiles, and ships mobile import improvements plus stability fixes—without the headline Restore AI launch that arrived in 2026.4.
