A native macOS disk analyzer that scans internal, external, and network volumes and renders usage as an interactive sunburst map so oversized folders and files stand out without manual Finder digging.

How disk cleanup works

Pick a drive or drop a folder onto the app; DiskMap AI builds a radial chart where segment size reflects space used. Click rings to drill into subfolders layer by layer, then review a sortable breakdown of the heaviest directories. The Top Files view lists the 100 largest files with filters by type (videos, images, archives, apps) or age, and items can queue for cleanup before moving to Trash.

A Hidden Space card explains gaps between scanned data and reported disk usage by surfacing Time Machine local snapshots, purgeable caches, and protected system areas. Quick Look previews support checking files before deletion; app bundles appear as single items with their true size. Scans run locally with no account, cloud upload, or telemetry according to the developer privacy label.

Mac fit and licensing

DiskMap AI requires macOS 13.0 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It supports APFS, HFS+, ExFAT, and FAT32 on startup disks, USB/Thunderbolt drives, SD cards, network volumes, and mounted disk images. The app is free to download on the Mac App Store with in-app purchases for full access (subscription tiers listed at roughly $4.99–$14.99 on the US store).

Version 3.1 continues the 3.x line with Hidden Space transparency, Top Files filtering, a clearer cleanup queue, fresher scan totals, and smoother performance on very large file trees. It is a separate product from FIPLAB’s treemap-based Disk Map app on the App Store.
