Finder Windows A small macOS utility that keeps an on-screen or menu-bar list of every open Finder window so you can jump to a folder without digging through the Window menu. Power users who prefer many Finder windows over tabs often lose track of which project folder is buried under which desktop. Finder Windows by Zevrix Solutions shows each open window with its name, folder icon (including colored labels), and optional close or minimize controls. Minimized windows appear in italics. Click an entry to bring that window forward, or close or minimize it from the panel without hunting for chrome you cannot see. Everyday workflow The panel can float only while Finder is frontmost or stay visible across all apps. Drag files from Finder onto a row in the list to copy or move them into that folder—the same drop target model as the Finder itself. If you dislike floating UI, the interactive list is also available from a menu-bar item. Prefer alphabetical browsing of open folders; there is no alternate sort order beyond that default. The developer positions the tool for people who skip Finder tabs; tabbed folders may still appear as separate list entries. Preferences let you show or hide close/minimize buttons and folder icons. An expert Terminal preference can help the menu-bar item behave when macOS auto-hides the menu bar. Licensing is a one-time $9.95 purchase with a free 30-day trial from the Zevrix site. The app is not sold on the Mac App Store in the usual storefront path used for this product line. Requirements and version 1.6.1 Finder Windows requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra through macOS 26 Tahoe and ships as a Universal Binary for Intel and Apple Silicon. Softpedia lists the current package at roughly 6.9 MB (build 45). The install stays light: leave it running in the background while you file, and use the panel only when the window stack gets messy. Version 1.6.1 (July 15, 2026) restores custom icon display on macOS Tahoe and later after that behavior broke in the 1.6 line. Earlier 1.6 (February 2026) addressed excessive memory use, and 1.5.18 reduced CPU load on Apple Silicon. If you run Tahoe with folders that use custom icons or colored labels, 1.6.1 is the build that brings those visuals back into the list.
