Focus is a lightweight and unobtrusive application capable to block websites or services you want in order to prevent you from accessing them while you work.

Menu bar based tool for blocking web and desktop distractions

Moreover, Focus is a practical utility that lives in your Mac’s menu bar from where you can easily enable or disable its main feature and access the Preferences window. You can also use Focus’ status bar menu to quit or uninstall the application with just a few mouse clicks.

Once you enabled the Focus mode, all websites present in the Blocked Sites list will be blocked. Every time you try to open one of the blocked websites, Focus will display an inspiring quote that can motivate you to get back to work. During work breaks you can easily “Unfocus” and visit the desired pages without any restrictions.

By accessing the Preferences window, you can configure the Focus menu bar icon to act as a switch for the Focus and Unfocus feature. On top of that, you can use the black and white menu bar icon and enable Focus to start at login.

The Blocked Sites tab helps you view and edit the list with all the web addresses that are blocked during the Focus mode. Focus comes with a pre-defined list that contains most popular social networking, video sharing and news websites.

However, while using Focus to make sure that you're always zeroing in on the task at hand, you can add or remove web addresses with just a mouse click or reset the list to its original form.
