Unfortunately, although TOWeb looks good on paper, in reality it is a Windows application brought to the Mac with the help of Wine. As a result, TOWeb performed quite poorly during our testing period and crashed more than a couple of times.

On top of that, TOWeb’s interface is counter-intuitive and unresponsive, a fact that will push away prospective buyers. Hopefully, future versions of TOWeb will bring major fixes, as well as improvements and a macOS native version.

A lightweight, powerful and very easy-to-use utility specially made to help you find the desired file or folder with just a few keystrokes

Scherlokk is a practical and user-friendly Mac OS X utility that enables you to find songs, pictures, videos, documents and applications in a matter of seconds.

Intuitive interface

In order to find a file you just have to select the file type, set the location path along with the file name and initiate the search process. All matching results are displayed at the bottom of the window from where you can further refine your search using various keywords.

The top toolbar allows you to change the color theme of Scherlokk and specify the type of file you need to find. Hence, you can choose between Music, Pictures, Movies, Documents and Binary or enable Scherlokk to look for all available file types.

User-definable search criteria

The Search criteria panel helps you set the location path, include or exclude subfolders, type in the file name and file content. Additionally, you can search in package contents, between invisible or hidden items, search for folders and more.

What is more, you can search for files created, modified or accessed between certain dates and with a specific size. If the results list is too long, you can use the built-in search form to further filter the displayed items.

Simple file preview and extensive sorting options

Although Scherlokk does not feature a contextual menu you can view the selected file in Finder, open the Info window, have a Quick Look and even open the file with just a couple of mouse clicks. You can even sort the results list based on the file name, size, kind and modification date.

Highly customizable interface

As mentioned earlier, you can personalize Scherlokk’s main window and choose between blue, gray, orange, green and pink as the background color. On top of that, Scherlokk is capable to automatically save your search criteria every time you close the app.

Overview

PinPoint Pro is controlled through a menu item you will find at the top of your screen, next to some of the other built-in items from Mac OS X. To call up its Settings Window or Quit PinPoint Pro, select the appropriate option from that menu.

Selecting Pointers

PinPoint Pro can display multiple effects at once. You select which effects are enabled by using the checkboxes next to each one.
Once selected, you can still toggle each one on or off by setting a Shortcut key or using the Action menu at the bottom of the list.

Important: Each effect takes up CPU power, so be aware that having tons of effects simultaneously will make things slower.

Keyboard Shortcuts

To set a shortcut for each pointer, click on the pointer in the list, then set its Keyboard Equivalent at the bottom right of the Settings window.
You can also set multiple pointers to use the same Shortcut by assigning a first one to a pointer, then, for subsequent ones, select the name of the other pointer from the list.

A shortcut can be set to Toggle a pointer when it is always visible, or simply turn it on until it disappears again automatically either because you moved it or after a delay.

Flipping pointers

When you tie two pointers to the same shortcut key, you can use the Action menu at the bottom of the list, to toggle one pointer separately. This allows you to toggle between two pointers using the same shortcut key.
