Within the Cisdem Duplicate Finder Results panel, the duplicate files are organized into multiple tabs, depending on their type: Documents, Images, Music, Videos, Archives, Package, and Other. The app also includes a simple search tool, and offers you the option to further sort the list by file size and type, name, or file count.

When you switch to the Overview mode,  Cisdem Duplicate Finder generates an animated graphic that helps you visualize the space distribution: each file type gets to be represented using a different color label, and you can see the overall storage space occupied by every category.

Preview images and reveal duplicates in the Finder

From each set of duplicate files, you can choose to select the ones you want to delete, or you can decide to hide certain items. Furthermore, you can reveal the selected file in your Finder and, if it is a supported image format, you also can preview the thumbnail directly from within Cisdem Duplicate Finder.

Although Cisdem Duplicate Finder is easy to use and provides multiple sorting options, it does not provide its users with the possibility to automatically mark for deletion multiple duplicates based on various criteria, such as creation date or file size, audio quality and other related information.

You do get to select all the files and delete them at the same time, but if you have multiple duplicates for the same file and you need to decide which document you want to keep, you might find Cisdem Duplicate Finder to be useful if you have to deal with a small number of duplicate files since you have to go through the entire list and verify each selection.

Bottom line, if you need to remove duplicate files from large folders with hundreds or thousands of files based on user defined criteria, you might want to look for alternative solutions better suited to deal with the task.

When you launch the Hands Off! application for the first time, the utility runs an assistant that quickly installs all required components, and helps you make simple decisions about the monitoring system.

For your convenience, Hands Off! also places a small menu in your status bar that allows you to quickly disable and enable the access rules, or access the configuration panel. If the Network Monitor function is enabled, the menu also enables you to open that panel (or you can use the Option + Command + G hotkey).

Effortlessly setup network usage and file writing permissions for applications or system processes

Within the Hands Off! Configuration window you can easily create new access rules (allow, deny, ask, hide, or preset) or edit already defined ones. Hands Off! is able to work with specific applications or with system services.

Quickly scan any website by using multiple threads

Within the WebScraper main window you must specify the URL address of the webpage you want to scan, and the number of threads that are to be used to complete the procedure. You get to adjust the latter parameter with the help of a simple slider bar.

To avoid any unnecessary scanning, you can choose to crawl only a single page, and then start the process with a simple mouse click. In the Live View window, you get to see the status message returned by each link, which might prove useful when dealing with debugging tasks.

Extract various types of information and export the data to CSV or JSON

  • Fixes bug in engine relating to the ‘output filter’ (only scraping data from pages containing or not containing X)
  • Slight change to the way that ‘ignore urls containing’ under scan works. It wasn’t ignoring these ulrs completely, but ‘not following’. Practically this probably makes little difference but the operation more accurately matches the wording now, and may make the scan more efficient.
  • too much information was being sent to the console in recent version(s), this is tidied up a bit.
