ValhallaPlate is our algorithmic take on the classic plate reverberation sound. Seven original algorithms emulate the sound and behavior of real world steel plate reverbs, and take the sound into dimensions that physical plates can’t touch.

ValhallaPlate is true stereo, emulating a steel plate that has 2 input drivers and 2 output pickups. It can be run as a mono-in/mono-out, mono-in/stereo-out, or stereo-in/stereo-out plugin.

ValhallaPlate realistically models the physics of plate reverbs:
  • High diffusion, for reverbs that have maximally high echo density.
  • Frequency dependent decay time, for huge lows and clear highs, under the control of a single Decay parameter.
  • Dispersion, for creating 3D imaging in the decay. The reverb comes from outside the speakers, and decays into the depths behind the speakers.
ValhallaPlate extends the plate reverb into dimensions that real plates can’t reach:
  • Variable size, to control how metallic a reverb mode sounds. Small sizes result in more metallic delays, while larger sizes sound clearer.
  • Lush modulation, that eliminates any metallic artifacts, while retaining the pitch of the input.
Seven original reverberation algorithms:
  • Four reverb modes (Chrome, Steel, Brass, Cobalt) that model the resonance density found in real plate reverberators.
  • Three additional reverb modes (Aluminum, Copper, Unobtanium) that combine the 3D dispersive characteristics of steel plates with the high resonance density found in reverberation chambers.
ValhallaPlate builds upon the Valhalla DSP plugin heritage:
  • Minimalist, resizable 2D GUI, with selfdocumenting tool tip area.
  • A comprehensive preset browser makes saving, recalling and sharing settings easy.
  • Fully compatible with 32 and 64 bit DAWs (32/64 bit VST for OSX and Windows, 32/64 bit Audio Units for OSX, 32bit RTAS for OSX and Windows, 64bit AAX for OSX and Windows).

In the software version, we changed the Time1/Time2 switch label to MONO (Time1 delay) and STEREO (Time1: left delay time, Time2: right delay time), it results in having a mono and stereo vintage delay that can create an amazing range of space effects.

Greqson is a cellist and composer “workinq at the forefront of the new music scene” (The New Yorker) Recently, he has premiered works by composers includinq Tod Machover, Daníel Bjarnason, Joby Talbot, Gabriel Prokofiev, Max Richter, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Steve Reich, Martin Sucklinq, Milton Mermikides, Howard Goodall, John Metcalfe, Scott Walker, and Sally Beamish; he also collaborates with audiolove.club many of the world’s leadinq technoloqists, includinq Microsoft Labs, UnitedVisualArtists, Reactify and the MIT Media Lab. He also fits into the Spitfire ethos of beinq a technoloqist at the front line of media compositoin by havinq recently completed scorinq his first feature film, ‘A Little Chaos’, directed by Alan Rickman and starrinq Kate Winslet, Helen McCrory, Matthias Schoenaerts and Stanley Tucci.

FilePane is a lightweight, versatile multi-tool for quick file management. Application to mirror the screen of your Mac to any Sony Bravia Smart TV. No wires and no additional hardware needed! You can also stream individual video files from your Mac to your TV. Also, we included the option to watch one window on your Mac, and another window on your TV!

This works on any Sony Smart TV from the 2012 models onwards.

In using the app, there will be about 1 to 2 seconds of latency. So this mirroring is not suitable for gaming.

However, it is very suitable for watching movies, giving presentations, watching photos, and much more!

The quality of your experience will be dependent on the quality of your local network.

Some tips to enhance the experience:
  • Preferably, connect your TV by LAN cable to your router.
  • Use an “ac” router. If you don’t have one, then an “n” router.
  • Try not to overload your wifi network by moving big files around while you are mirroring.
How the app works:

First, make sure that your Sony TV is on the same local network and same subnet as your Mac. The TV should not be in screen mirroring mode, but just on “TV” Mode or any HDMI IN port.

After launching the app, you will see the app icon appearing in the top bar of your Mac and the app will look for your TV on the network. It will show your TV when it has found it. Now, you have two options:

Mirror your Mac Screen:

Use this option to put the screen of your Mac on TV. In source, you can select which screen (or attached monitor) you want to display on TV. If you are running multiple applications on your Mac, you can also select which application window you want to see on TV.

Enable Sound:

Check this to hear the sound of your Mac coming from the TV. You will need the additional (free) audio driver, which you can download here: http://bit.ly/MirrorAudio

Play Video File:

Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you want to play just the file on TV. Drop it in the box and it will play on TV.

Limitations:

Apple has HDCP DRM protection for playing iTunes movies. This means that screen mirroring is not possible when watching movies from iTunes.
