  • Paint: Playback Selected Events Forward or Backward Playback of paint strokes can now be performed forward or backward depending on whether you select the Play Selected Events Backward or Play Selected Events Forward (arrowhead) icons.
  • Paint: Rebuild In Paint Stroke Order Rebuild now always rebuilds in paint stroke order, not in time order.
  • Render > Slap Comp > Invert There is now an option to invert the Slap Comp in the Render Options.

This update accompanies our 3.8 release for iOS, which brings Dark Mode to our mobile apps. On your iPhone and iPad, you can now choose between three beautiful appearances – Light, Dark, and Black – or have it switch automatically based on your display brightness.

Here on the Mac, where Dark Mode was added in 3.7, some users requested an extra option to run Things in Light Mode even when the operating system was set to Dark. This is now possible from the View menu. This update also includes various other fixes and stability improvements.

  1. A checklist item’s contents now remain visible while dragging it around.
  2. Things Fixed an issue where trying to expand a todo after dragging it would expand a different todo.
  3. Things Fixed 3.8.1 an issue where the Quick Entry window would be dismissed (or an expanded todo would be collapsed) if you hit the Esc key while a popover menu was still visible.
  4. Things Fixed an issue where Handoff wouldn’t work between Mac (App Store version) and iOS.
  5. Fixed an issue where pasting a single line of text into a todo would strip out any leading or trailing spaces.
  6. Fixed an issue where an item couldn’t be revealed (from a notification, the Today Widget, or Quick Find) if the list was already filtered by a tag that hid that item from view; the list will now become unfiltered to reveal it.
  7. Added a workaround for an issue with DEVONThink that affected pasting rich text contents from that app into Things.
  8. Fixed an issue where the Today Widget wouldn’t work in beta builds.
  9. Fixed an issue where success callbacks weren’t called after adding a todo via Quick Entry.
  10. Fixed some sporadic crashes that could occur when switching between other apps and Things.
  11. Augmented the sync triggers while editing a todo; changes will now also be synced when your Mac is about to sleep.

Low values sound subtile. High values sound erratic. The RMS control lets you pick between slow, medium or fast rmsdetection, which determines how quickly the plugin reacts to the incoming signal. INSTANT option is very fast and ZERO has 0ms RMS time.

Getting tired of using the same old pedal distortion plugins? Want some more room to experiment? It’s time to get to know Indent 2, from Unfiltered Audio. With just a few adjustments, you can use this handy distortion toolkit to dial in just the right sound in seconds. But don’t be fooled by its simplicity; inside this small package is a highly versatile wave-shaping tool with no less than ten unique clipping algorithms. It’s like having a whole library of distortion plugins in one package.

While Indent 2 will be right at home on your guitar tracks, it is much more than an overdrive pedal. You can drop it on just about any track or group to add a dash of subtle flavor, or to overwhelm your senses with a blast of delectable harmonics. Packed with such a range of different clipping styles, it can be your go-to plugin for finishing touches, experimental effects, and more.

Indent 2’s signal path consists of a customizable multi-mode filter, sandwiched between two different clipping stages, both of which offer ten different user-selectable distortion modes: Hard Clip, Soft Clip, Wavefold, Overfold, Harsh Fold, Distortion, Tube, Tape, Gloubi, and Cubic. Including a filter in the plugin’s internal signal path dramatically expands its versatility, so it’s easily adaptable to a broad range of wave-shaping tasks. Add a modulated, resonant high-pass filter after the first clipping stage to get an old school techno sound on a synth bass track, then set the second clipping stage to “Wavefold” to smooth out the signal and add back some of the harmonics that were cut off by the filter.

With a little experimenting, you’ll find that Indent 2 can imbue a nearly endless range of tones and emotions for any genre. Cranking up the gain with a “Wavefold” clipping style can be a great way to add an aggressive, punk rock tone to a vocal track, but dial back the gain and set the style to “Tube” and now your vocal tracks have a close-up, intimate feel that’s perfect for a ballad. Having trouble getting your synth bass to cut through in the mix? Try using “Soft Clip” along with a resonant high pass, and you’re in business. You’ll be amazed at how much the right kind of distortion can do for your mix.

And here’s the best part: Almost all of Indent 2’s parameters can be modulated with Unfiltered Audio’s unique and intuitive modulation system. Just assign a parameter by using a virtual patch cable, and then select from among eight different modulators, including LFOs, a randomizer, and even a user-programmable step sequencer. Classic tempo-synced tremolo and wah wah effects are just the beginning. Modulate a drum’s input gain with an envelope follower to make stick hits explode and mic bleed shrink—or whittle the hits down to split-second spikes. Set the filter mode to Band Reject and modulate the frequency with a tempo-synced Sine LFO to get a Leslie effect on a guitar track; then apply the Step Sequencer to the Sine so that the Leslie pulsates with syncopated rhythms. That’s right – you can apply modulators to other modulators!

Still not enough control for you? Check out one of Unfiltered Audio’s newest additions to their modulation section: The ROLI Lightpad modulator. Thanks to Unfiltered’s seamless integration with ROLI’s newest controller, you can use simple gestural controls to modulate Indent 2’s parameters in real time. Using the Lightpad’s unique three-dimensional interface, you can easily modulate multiple parameters, or even modulate other modulators. Apply the X and Y axes to the filter’s Cutoff and Resonance parameters to “draw” filter envelopes on the Lightpad’s surface, and use your finger pressure to control the resonance. Perfect for assembling a highly portable live setup.

iNet provides you with information about networks and devices your Mac is connected to. Its very easy and user friendly design even allows the unexperienced user to get a profound and understandable overview of a network, the running services and the Wi-Fi quality.

In the current version the following functions are available:

We did our best to develop a solution that makes network observing as simple as possible. Wether you are a network expert or a common user- iNet provides the information you need to find out what’s going on in your network.

Network Scanner:
  • See all devices that are online and connected to a network, along with vendor, IP and MAC addresses
  • Assign your own names and icons or choose from the provided icons for easier identifying a device in the scan list. Most Mac devices are displayed with their original icon.
  • Set scan range and interface to scan
  • Export scan results in csv format
  • Connect to devices via different protocols
Bonjour Monitor:
  • Detect all running Bonjour services realtime
  • Detect running services on a discrete device
  • Detailed information about a service
  • Choose the active Bonjour domain for observing
*Airport Monitor:

* • Attention for users of the latest 2013 Airport edition with 802.11ac: Because SNMP support has been disabled iNet cannot retrieve the usage statistics and wifi strength any more with these models. All other features of iNet are working properly. The following Airport monitoring features can only be used with models prior to the 802.11ac:

  • See the current condition of Apple Airport base stations like Airport express or Time Capsule
  • Monitor network traffic on Airport devices
