MacGPT is a native macOS utility from Good Snooze that puts ChatGPT in your menu bar—quick access without keeping a browser tab open.

Version 3.21 adds support for OpenAI’s GPT-4o model in native (API) mode, alongside web login for ChatGPT Plus subscribers.

Core features

Access modes:

• Menu bar — open ChatGPT from the menubar in a dedicated window
• Global — Spotlight-style overlay to chat from any app
• Inline — trigger ChatGPT inside text fields with a custom phrase
• Web or Native — sign in to the ChatGPT website, or connect your own OpenAI API key for a lighter native interface

Workflow tools:

• Conversation mode — voice input and spoken replies in Global
• Copy conversation — export a readable chat transcript
• Streaming responses, resend/delete messages, custom system prompts, sidebar (web mode), and DALL·E image saving from recent releases
