For those who made some 3D creations using various specialized software solutions and need to work on them without having to install each program again, a utility like Metasequoia can be the right choice. This application manages to provide a strong set of features and make them available from a really friendly interface. There are several modes to operate Metasequoia, namely Beginner, Modeling (string), Modeling (icon) and Mapping.
Each of these styles comes with its commands for editing the loaded model, setting the appropriate lighting and more. There is a wide variety of objects that you can select and insert in the design, as well as some tools that are meant for modifying the model you are working on. The editing function that Metasequoia is equipped with are rather basic, but, nonetheless, cover all the necessary actions for handling objects, material faces and vertices. Each selected portion of the design can be fixed, stored or restored when needed, as well as fit to view or set as center of rotation. There are many customizations that can be made to the application from the ‘Configuration’ area, so you can assign, for instance, various actions to mouse buttons and key combinations. Texture rendering imperfections and some glitches that may occur can be avoided by adjusting the Direct3D and OpenGL preview options. Black Out lets you quickly hide sensitive parts of an image. This can be useful when you want to post a screenshot or photo on the web that contains some information you don’t want to be revealed.
It also removes all metadata, like when and where a photo was captured.
Black Out is intentionally simple. It doesn’t have the ability to resize or rotate the black boxes. It’s meant as a tool to quickly redact some sensitive information, not to perfect an image. If need something more advanced, you can use Preview or any other graphics editor.

You can open a PDF document, but you have to export it as an image. It’s almost impossible to reliably export redacted PDFs.
‣ Can you support blurring and pixelation?
Blurring and pixelation are intentionally not supported as they can sometimes be reversed (Search for “blurring sensitive” on Google). The only reliable way to redact something is to put a black box over it.
‣ I can already do this in the Preview app!

Neat Video Pro for OFX is a video filter designed to reduce visible noise and grain in digital video footage produced by digital video cameras, camcorders, TV-tuners, digitizers of film or analog video.
Neat Video Pro plug-in supports standard- and high-bitdepth rendering and can process frames of any size. Noise is a serious problem that complicates digital video processing. Footage coming from digital video cameras, camcorders, digital TV-tuners, film digitizers, etc., often contains an easily noticeable noise component that may distract viewers. Neat Video is a solution to the noise problem. It is a filter specifically designed to reduce visible noise in digital video clips produced by modern digital video capturing devices as well as digitized from traditional film or VHS records.

PatterNodes is a tool for creating graphical patterns, animations, gradients, or illustrations based on repetitions. This is done by defining a sequence of steps, a recipe of sorts, that describes the pattern. Each pattern element or operation is represented by a little panel called a node, and the nodes are then linked by connections drawn between them. As the nodes can be freely combined and connected, this gives you a very flexible and powerful interface.
While this interface requires a different way of thinking, it also offers a lot of benefits compared to traditional Illustrator-type editors. Most importantly it enables you to use sliders to instantly change any aspect, like color, spacing, scaling, rotation or repetition count of any part of the pattern without having to undo/redo any steps. You can also specify animation value ranges for any of these parameters.
The resulting pattern tile is always shown in the bottom preview view, repeated and updating in real time with any changes, giving you instant feedback of what the end result will be. To make pattern creation easier PatterNodes also includes a lot of nodes that automatically perform common tedious tasks like repeating elements at the tile edges to make the pattern seamless, or randomizing different aspects (like color, position, rotation, etc.) of the elements in a pattern to give it a little more life. Finally, when you’re done you can simply copy the pattern tile into whatever illustration or graphics application you use, or export it either as vector graphics or a bitmap image file. Animations can be exported as GIF, QuickTime MOV or numbered PNG or JPG files

Version 6.6.1: New Shape Processor Filters
Hue Shift. Shift the hue of your shapes by a configurable amount. (Available for MacOS 10.13 or later).
Flip. You can flip your shapes vertical or horizontal, using the flip axis of either the canvas, processed shapes, or the shape itself.
Fill, which lets you change the color a shape fills with (and if it fills at all).
Stroke, which lets you change if a shape draws a stroke, how wide it is, and the color.
Blend Mode, which will change the blend / compositing mode for all processed shapes.
And finally, if you double click on the canvas when Shape Processors are active, it will now bring up the Shape Processor palette.
Other New Things
The Mask to Alpha filter has a new invert invert colors option. Normally mask to alpha will convert the black areas of your image to transparent, and the white to opaque (with gray somewhere in-between). With the new Invert Colors option, Mask to Alpha will now convert the white areas of your image to transparent, and keep the black opaque. This is great if you are scanning line line drawings from your own artwork, and want to make the backgrounds transparent.
Minor Stuff
Acorn does a bit of database cleanup now by default when saving in the Acorn image format, which will result in smaller files in some cases.
Color profiles are now included with PSD exports (thanks to the folks at The Iconfactory for the patch!)
When resizing your image to something rather larger than normal, Acorn will ask to make sure that’s what you wanted to do. (Acorn already did this for new documents, but it’s super handy when resizing or changing your canvas size as well).
Improvements to PSD export.
Pasting an image into the New Image window will create a new image with the contents of the paste. This has always been the case. The new thing is that any open New Image windows will now close.
The Save Panel brought some old tricks back! If you Save a new image, or Save As… an existing image and enter the file name and type out a changed extension, Acorn will notice and auto-select the right file type from the format popup. This had been broken on 10.15 and sandboxed versions of Acorn previously. But no more! (Hat tip to Rich Siegel for the workaround).
The Edit ▸ Fill… command now picks the right fill color to use (instead of possibly the stroke) from the tool palette color well. (Also- in case you didn’t already know, pressing Option-Delete will automatically fill a bitmap layer with the current fill color. It’s a nice shortcut to have around).
Minor and mysterious QOL fixes involving fonts, color profile sheets, pixel tool drawing, and redrawing on 10.15.
Bezier shapes now draw their outlines and handles when manipulating anchor points and their associated handles.

Acorn now clamps the edges of a selection when a feather is being applied. This helps for when you take a selection with a feather and invert it, causing the edges to be feathered when that wasn’t exactly expected.
