The quality of your experience will be dependent on the quality of your local network. Some tips to enhance the experience:
1. Restart your router. Just take out the power plug, wait 10 seconds and put it back in. This resets your router and will make your home network faster and more stable. Why this works? Routers are in essence little computers, with software. Software will have small memory leaks and some processes will stop working correctly over time. That’s why it is a good idea to reset your router once in a while. Our recommendation: once a week.
2. Don’t do network intense work while screen mirroring. As explained, screen mirroring is network intense. For the best performance, don’t do other network intense work at the same time. This includes making timemachine backups over the network and uploading/downloading large files from the internet while screen mirroring.
3. Put your Mac and your Android TV on the same router channel. Some routers (dual band) have create both a 2.4Ghz and a 5Ghz wireless network. For the best performance, put your Mac and your TV on the same network. Preferably the 5Ghz network. But definitely not the Mac on 5Ghz and the TV on 2.4Ghz, because that will negatively impact the performance of screen mirroring.
4. Use an AC or N router. Newer routers support Wifi AC and N. Older routers might only have Wifi B and/or G. B and G are not really up to scratch anymore for modern networking tasks, so go for an AC or N router. If your router supports AC and N, also make sure that your router is set to use either the Wifi N or Wifi AC networking.
How the app works:
First, make sure that your Samsung TV is on the same local network and same subnet as your Mac. The TV should not be in screen mirroring mode, but just on “TV” Mode or any HDMI IN port.
After launching the app, you will see the app icon appearing in the top bar of your Mac and the app will look for your TV on the network. It will show your TV when it has found it. Now, you have two options:
Mirror your Mac Screen:
Use this option to put the screen of your Mac on TV. In source, you can select which screen (or attached monitor) you want to display on TV. If you are running multiple applications on your Mac, you can also select which application window you want to see on TV.
Enable Sound: check this to hear the sound of your Mac coming from the TV. You will need the additional (free) audio driver, which you can download here: http://bit.ly/MirrorAudio
Play Video File:
Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you want to play just the file on TV. Drop it in the box and it will play on TV.

B and G are not really up to scratch anymore for modern networking tasks, so go for an AC or N router. PatterNodes is a tool for creating graphical patterns, animations, gradients, or illustrations based on repetitions. This is done by defining a sequence of steps, a recipe of sorts, that describes the pattern. Each pattern element or operation is represented by a little panel called a node, and the nodes are then linked by connections drawn between them. As the nodes can be freely combined and connected, this gives you a very flexible and powerful interface.
While this interface requires a different way of thinking, it also offers a lot of benefits compared to traditional Illustrator-type editors. Most importantly it enables you to use sliders to instantly change any aspect, like color, spacing, scaling, rotation or repetition count of any part of the pattern without having to undo/redo any steps. When watching live cameras or a multiview of clips and a signifiant event occurs, capture the moment with a POI marker. The POI is placed on all the clips at that same time so you can quickly find the event on every camera angle, play them to air and even automatically build a highlights timeline.
Replay Palette
The pace of live TV is frantic so the replay controls are clear and quick to navigate. Set a POI with a single key, select a camera and cue the event. Then select run to play to air automatically via ATEM. You can switch cameras or once it’s done, simply dump the playout to prepare the next replay.
Auto Stinger
Stingers are moving graphics and sound transition to let the viewer know you have switched from live to a replay, then back, or even just switched to a new scene. Select auto stingers from the media pool and play in real time at the head and tail of a replay, even when the replay is in slow motion.
Text Based Timeline Editing
Improvements to the transcription workflow make it possible to edit clips based on their transcribed text directly on the timeline! The analyzer is now able to detect multiple voices, allowing you to assign names to different speakers and refine text based search and text replacement operations.
AI Speech to Text Transcription
The transcribe feature automatically transcribes video and audio clips! Simply select the clips in the media pool and use the menus to select audio transcription and then transcribe. You can mark in and out points to edit or delete text, generate sub clips, add markers and even remove silence.
Improved Cut Page Editing
The addition of three new menus to the Cut page timeline allows for quicker and more flexible editing. Use the timeline options, timeline actions and edit actions to toggle ripple editing, trim edit points to the playhead, trim to and resync audio, and change the appearance of the timeline and more!
Automatically Create Subtitles
The auto subtitle feature on the Cut and Edit pages transcribes timeline speech to text automatically into a subtitle track on the timeline. To activate, simply click ‘create subtitles from audio’ in the timeline menu. Once analyzed, click the individual captions to modify them in the inspector.
Scene Cut Detection
Scene cut detection is now possible directly on the Cut timeline. Simply navigate to the timeline menu and click ‘detect scene cuts’. Selected clips will be analyzed for content and cut points automatically placed on every new edit in the rendered clip. Customers can modify or remove trim points as needed.
A/V Split Audio and Video Edits
On the Cut page, drag the lower part of a clip to separately adjust the audio track, allowing the dialogue to be heard before or continue after the video clip is seen. Editors can creatively focus visual attention on the scene using audio to add interest, drama and even tension to dialogue scenes.

f you are using a poor internet connection, trying to visualize videos streamlined online might not work properly since the content is loaded too slowly. Downie is a simple Mac app that can help you download those videos to your computer, and then watch them by using your default media player.
User friendly video downloader featuring support for drag and drop actions
Working with Downie is extremely straightforward: simply drop the video URL on top of the app’s main window or on the Dock icon. Downie adds the video to your downloads list, so all you have to do next is start the process by pressing the appropriate button. Of course, you can also remove items from the list.
By default, Downie downloads MP4 files and places them in your default Downloads folder, but you can easily change this via the Preferences window. The same area allows you to setup notifications, or post processing actions (convert to MP4 if necessary, or extract audio only).
