    Color Variables We’re

    • excited to introduce this long-requested feature and one of the final building blocks for a comprehensive design system in Sketch. When you apply a Color Variable to a fill, border or anywhere you can apply solid colors, they’ll stay linked. If you edit a Color Variable, you’ll see that change reflected across every part of your document that uses it. Color Variables replace solid color presets and when you open a document we’ll automatically convert any existing color presets that belong to it. You’ll see the option to create a new Color Variable in the Color Popover.

    Components View (Beta)

    • The Components View is a new home for your document’s local Symbols, Text and Layer Styles, and Color Variables.     Insert Window

    • Alongside the Components View, we’re introducing a new, separate Insert Window that makes finding and inserting components faster than ever. Simply press c on your keyboard to open it, start typing to search for the component you need, then drag and drop it onto your Canvas.

    What’s improved

    • We’ve added support for Color Variables to the Sketch jаvascript API, so if you’re building plugins or integrations, you can support it, too!
    • Re-ordering layers in grid arrangements, by dragging on their circular center handle, now works in a more natural way. Layers will shift around automatically to avoid adding an extra row or column.
    • When you use the Offset Path tool, we’ll temporarily show you an outline of the original path to give you a better sense of scale.
    • You can now use the Make Grid tool to reduce the size of existing grids.

    What’s changed

    • We’ve adjusted our Android Artboard presets, fixing some viewport sizes and adding the latest Pixel and Galaxy devices.
    • When you drag layers, we now use a smarter approach to align them to pixels. This should keep layers aligned more in the way you’d expect, especially for lines.
    • As part of an industry-wide change with Figma and Adobe, we’ve renamed Symbol masters throughout the app. We now refer to a Symbol master as a Symbol Source.
    • There’s now an optional toolbar icon available for the Offset Path tool. We’ve also added it to the Tools item.
    • We’ve been tidying things up ready for a certain operating system update and have moved the controls for Offset Path (Layer > Path > Offset…). You’ll now see the controls in the Inspector instead of a sheet at the top of the Canvas whenever you use it.

    • Fixes a crash that could occur if you were editing a bitmap layer and using the eyedropper tool.
    • Fixes a bug that caused some of the borders of an instance that had been previously rotated to not always show when fitting an Artboard to it.
    • Fixes a crash that could occur when pasting a layer with invalid text attributes from an old document or from a document that was created with a third-party app.
    • Fixes a bug that wouldn’t show the correct Library source in the Components Popover for Text or Layer Styles that were part of a Library that was duplicated.
    • Fixes a bug that caused high CPU usage when you were viewing layers with blurred shadows.
    • Fixes a bug that stopped color properties from showing in the Find and Replace Color sheet.
    • Fixes a bug that meant bitmaps would not always look sharp at lower zoom levels.
    • Fixes a bug that caused unexpected antialiasing differences on Symbol instances with clipping masks compared with detached versions of that Symbol.
    • Fixes a bug that could change the coordinates of a line when you adjusted the size of the Artboard it belonged to.
    • Fixes a bug that caused overrides to reset or be unavailable when you reopened some documents.
    • Fixes a bug that meant you could set a guide to -0, which felt a little odd, if we’re honest.
    • Fixes a bug that meant values in the Layout Settings sheet would not always display correctly when confirming, canceling or tabbing through the sheet fields.
    • Fixes a crash that could occur if you pressed the tab key in an empty value field while you were creating Custom Artboard Preset.
    • Fixes a bug where changing opacity of a Tint on a Symbol instance would not always work reliably.
    • Fixes various bugs affecting the Text on Path feature to make it more reliable.

    • Added new capability for editing Bezier curves and paths. Cmd and Option buttons have new vertex editing modifications. Cmd and Option will modify to insert a vertex in a Path (Path being a Bezier of straight, non curved, segments). Cmd and Option will modify to extend either end of an open Bezier path or curve. Hold down the modifier key then click on the target vertex and drag, the newly inserted vertex will drag and follow mouse movements. For end point extension Cmd extends a linear segment with control points. For end point extension Option extends a curved segment. For a path Cmd adds the vertex after the vertex, Option adds the point before the vertex. Cmd and Option drag of a non-end point vertex for a Bezier curve does not insert a vertex, the modifier keys cause adjacent control points to move with the vertex.
    • Fixed SVG import for SVG content that contains a single point Bezier path or line. Previously EazyDraw printed an error message and failed the conversion. Several browsers were tested and they accept the file, therefore it seems that EazyDraw should accept the drawing.
    • Fixed SVG export of rotated text when using outlines for text (no fonts or glyphs used for text). Rotated text was rotated twice on the export. This is now fixed.
    • Fixed a problem with grid color for users running on older versions of macOS (10.13). EazyDraw 9 had progressed to use Catalogue colors for the grid default colors which provides better future support for wide gamut displays. But madOS 10.13 is older and did not properly handle the new grid color . Grids sometimes would open and not be seen until the drawing was saved and re-opened on macOS 10.13. This is now all fixed. The correction still provides full support for wide gamut display colors on macOS 10.14 and 10.15.
    • Fixed bug with the Snap popup menu found on right side of the Attributes bar. The popup menu did not work if the Align to Grid palette had not ben opened. Now the menu always works, even if the Align to Grid palette is not open and has never been opened.
    • Export iconset did not properly select the content for the individual icons. The problem was introduced with recent changes to support wide gamut colors. Export iconset now works with all png supported color space selections including p3 colors.

    PatterNodes is a tool for creating graphical patterns, animations, gradients, or illustrations based on repetitions. This is done by defining a sequence of steps, a recipe of sorts, that describes the pattern. Each pattern element or operation is represented by a little panel called a node, and the nodes are then linked by connections drawn between them. As the nodes can be freely combined and connected, this gives you a very flexible and powerful interface.

    While this interface requires a different way of thinking, it also offers a lot of benefits compared to traditional Illustrator-type editors. Most importantly it enables you to use sliders to instantly change any aspect, like color, spacing, scaling, rotation or repetition count of any part of the pattern without having to undo/redo any steps. You can also specify animation value ranges for any of these parameters.

    The resulting pattern tile is always shown in the bottom preview view, repeated and updating in real time with any changes, giving you instant feedback of what the end result will be. To make pattern creation easier PatterNodes also includes a lot of nodes that automatically perform common tedious tasks like repeating elements at the tile edges to make the pattern seamless, or randomizing different aspects (like color, position, rotation, etc.) of the elements in a pattern to give it a little more life. Finally, when you’re done you can simply copy the pattern tile into whatever illustration or graphics application you use, or export it either as vector graphics or a bitmap image file. Animations can be exported as GIF, QuickTime MOV or numbered PNG or JPG files

    PatterNodes is a tool for creating graphical patterns, animations, gradients, or illustrations based on repetitions. This is done by defining a sequence of steps, a recipe of sorts, that describes the pattern. Each pattern element or operation is represented by a little panel called a node, and the nodes are then linked by connections drawn between them. As the nodes can be freely combined and connected, this gives you a very flexible and powerful interface.

    While this interface requires a different way of thinking, it also offers a lot of benefits compared to traditional Illustrator-type editors. Most importantly it enables you to use sliders to instantly change any aspect, like color, spacing, scaling, rotation or repetition count of any part of the pattern without having to undo/redo any steps. You can also specify animation value ranges for any of these parameters.

    The resulting pattern tile is always shown in the bottom preview view, repeated and updating in real time with any changes, giving you instant feedback of what the end result will be. To make pattern creation easier PatterNodes also includes a lot of nodes that automatically perform common tedious tasks like repeating elements at the tile edges to make the pattern seamless, or randomizing different aspects (like color, position, rotation, etc.) of the elements in a pattern to give it a little more life. Finally, when you’re done you can simply copy the pattern tile into whatever illustration or graphics application you use, or export it either as vector graphics or a bitmap image file. Animations can be exported as GIF, QuickTime MOV or numbered PNG or JPG files

    ZBrush sets the industry standard for digital sculpting and painting. Its features enable you to use customizable brushes to shape, texture and paint virtual clay in a real-time environment that provides instant feedback. When you use ZBrush you’ll be empowered by the same tools employed by film studios, game developers, toy/collectible makers, jewelry designers, automotive/aviation designers, illustrators, advertisers, scientists and other artists the world over.

    Base Mesh Generation
    As with anything else in life, where you can go is usually determined by where you begin. Having a great finished model requires a quality base mesh. ZBrush provides an arsenal of tools to assist with this task, ensuring that no matter what you have in mind, there is a way to get the perfect base to then take to the next level. The best known of these systems are explained here.

    Sculptris Pro
    Ignore the constraints of polygon distribution and simply – sculpt! Sculptris Pro will dynamically add (tesselate) and remove (decimate) polygons wherever and whenever needed. It does this during your brush stroke in a real-time process called Tessimation. This frees you to focus entirely on the look you’re trying to achieve.

    Dynamesh
    DynaMesh is a perfect solution for free-form sculpting because it removes all need for focusing on topological constraints. Change the overall shape of the model by pushing or pulling, adding various pieces of geometry to combine into one, or even remove geometry in a manner similar to what can be done with Boolean operations. Where Sculptris Pro dynamically adjusts the triangles in your mesh as you sculpt, DynaMesh redistributes the model’s polygons as quads on command.

    Mesh Detailing
    Whether created in ZBrush or imported from elsewhere, once you have your base mesh it is time to start detailing. ZBrush features a robust suite of tools to accomplish this. Those listed below are just the tip of the iceberg.

    Sculpting Brushes
    The main workflow for creating with ZBrush is based on a system of brushes which can also be modulated using pen pressure from a graphics tablet. ZBrush will reproduce the natural feeling of a real paint brush or sculpting tool, using the pressure applied to the pen tip to transform your digital stroke in a variety of ways. There are brushes to pinch, move, build up the surface, chisel into it, slice through the model and much more. You can even use other 3D models as brushes, inserting their geometry into your surface.

    Noisemaker
    In addition to being able to add detail by hand, ZBrush provides a system for procedurally generating surface detail through noise patterns. Choose a detail type, adjust a few simple parameters, then apply that pattern to your model in its entirety or by restricting it to a certain region. You can even combine different noise types to create highly complex effects. The Noise system is ideal for both hard surface work and organic details.

    PolyPaint
    Because ZBrush works with tens of millions of polygons in real-time, you can paint directly on the surface of the model without first assigning a texture map or UV’s. This offers significant advantages compared to a standard workflow. The resolution of the texture map does not need to be decided in advance. This is particularly valuable if you find you need more detailing on an area than you thought you would. Instead of repainting a new, larger texture map you can simply transfer the existing surface detail to that larger map without any reworking. You don’t even need to do UV unwrapping before you begin this painting. In fact, thanks to the way that ZBrush can project details (both sculpted and painted) from one model to another you can have a fully painted model before you even have a finalized animation mesh. Instead, you can copy everything to the final base mesh once it has been signed off on.

    In order create or use a texture map, a model first needs UV’s. These are 2D coordinates that tell all 3D applications how to apply a texture to your model. With most programs, creating those UV’s has been a time consuming challenge that requires a high level of technical expertise and has little room for creativity.     Patternodes 2.3.3

    PatterNodes is a tool for creating graphical patterns, animations, gradients, or illustrations based on repetitions. This is done by defining a sequence of steps, a recipe of sorts, that describes the pattern. Each pattern element or operation is represented by a little panel called a node, and the nodes are then linked by connections drawn between them. As the nodes can be freely combined and connected, this gives you a very flexible and powerful interface.

    While this interface requires a different way of thinking, it also offers a lot of benefits compared to traditional Illustrator-type editors. Most importantly it enables you to use sliders to instantly change any aspect, like color, spacing, scaling, rotation or repetition count of any part of the pattern without having to undo/redo any steps. You can also specify animation value ranges for any of these parameters.

    The resulting pattern tile is always shown in the bottom preview view, repeated and updating in real time with any changes, giving you instant feedback of what the end result will be. To make pattern creation easier PatterNodes also includes a lot of nodes that automatically perform common tedious tasks like repeating elements at the tile edges to make the pattern seamless, or randomizing different aspects (like color, position, rotation, etc.) of the elements in a pattern to give it a little more life. Finally, when you’re done you can simply copy the pattern tile into whatever illustration or graphics application you use, or export it either as vector graphics or a bitmap image file. Animations can be exported as GIF, QuickTime MOV or numbered PNG or JPG files
