Scherlokk is a lightning fast file search utility build for precise and reliable search of every file which meets the search criteria. Music, pictures, bookmarks, documents, etc can be found quickly and easily. Search can be made on any kind of build in volume, portable volume (pendrives, memory cards, USB drives), network drive (AFP, SMB, FTP), etc.

It does not matter if the searched file is hidden or system. The file does not even need to be indexed by OS X to be found by Scherlokk.
Specify the kind of searched file(s) (music, movie, picture, etc.) or some of the file attributes (size, date, etc.). For documents or data files – a content can be specified.
When searching with size range, Scherlokk calculates and displays all folders which fit in the range.

Why use Scherlokk rather then Spotlight:
Scherlokk searches through ‘real’ files instead of the Spotlight’s index. The index is not always up to date and does not contain all files.
Scherlokk shows search results in a flat or hierarchical view which helps to find out which file is the one you need and how files are located in the folders structure.

2B Clipped is a distortion plug-in based on the distortion and filter engine that we have built for our top selling plug-in 2B Filtered.

The large distortion knob first adds some character to the sounds you put through the plug-in, but as soon as you open the distortion knob more than half it will transform into a clip distortion. In this way, the plug-in is suitable not only for adding subtle character to your sounds, but also for completely overdriving them.

We have added small pieces of our developed filter 2B Filtered so that you can transform exactly that part of the sound that is needed.

Output has released Portal, a granular effects plug-in. Portal invites you to run any input signal through its granular synthesis engine, taking “your sounds to another dimension”, as Output claims. The plug-in also features extensive modulation capabilities and additional effects.

Like other granular synthesizers and effects, such as Granulizer 2, PolyGAS, or Cosmosf FX4, Output Portal divides audio into small grains. These are then resynthesized to form the output signal, which can sound like a warped version of the original, or something completely different. Unlike many granular synthesizers, Portal does not require you to load a sample into the plug-in, but rather applies itself as an effect to the incoming audio signal.

Portal lets you adjust the grain with parameters like density, offset, size, count, and shape. You can control the pitch shifting of grains, which can lock to a selectable scale, if desired. The grain section, which is accessible on the advanced page, also features time stretching, tempo-syncing grain delay, and lowpass and highpass filters.

Control parameters with the X/Y pad

Parameters can be mapped to two macros, which you can then control with a large X/Y pad. The developers took the opportunity to integrate some cool graphics that really make you feel like you’re sending your sounds into another dimension.

For modulation, Output Portal includes two looping envelopes, which seem to be very flexible. You can edit them graphically, and it looks like they can take many shapes from simple curves to complex rhythmic patterns. The envelopes can control any parameter, allowing you to modulate all aspects of the granular synthesis.

Effects
To further shape the sound, Output Portal includes additional effects. There are two slots, into each of which you can load one of seven effects. Bit reducer, chorus, distortion, filter, phaser, reverb, and delay are on offer. In addition to that, Output also has a master effects section with a stereo compressor and master filters.

Scherlokk is a lightning fast file search utility build for precise and reliable search of every file which meets the search criteria. Music, pictures, bookmarks, documents, etc can be found quickly and easily. Search can be made on any kind of build in volume, portable volume (pendrives, memory cards, USB drives), network drive (AFP, SMB, FTP), etc.

It does not matter if the searched file is hidden or system. The file does not even need to be indexed by OS X to be found by Scherlokk.
Specify the kind of searched file(s) (music, movie, picture, etc.) or some of the file attributes (size, date, etc.). For documents or data files – a content can be specified.
When searching with size range, Scherlokk calculates and displays all folders which fit in the range.

Why use Scherlokk rather then Spotlight:
Scherlokk searches through ‘real’ files instead of the Spotlight’s index. The index is not always up to date and does not contain all files.

apulSoft apUnmask is an audio plugin to amplify components of the audio that are psychoacoustically masked by other components.

To achieve this, apUnmask uses parts of the detector algorithm of the opus high-quality audio compression codec. Signal components that would get removed by compression are extracted. These can normally not be heard as they are masked by louder components in time and frequency. apUnmask enables amplifying and sculpting the masked content and adding it to the music.

To shape the frequencies of the extracted signal, it is fed through a linear phase graphical equalizer. It features a bezier curve smoothed frequency response without overshoot.

The result is a form of hyperrealistic audio. The process helps the listener to hear more aspects of the music at the same time. apUnmask can be used as a mastering effect or as an intelligent exciter for single instruments

Normally lossy audio compression just removes things. Decades of research have lead to clever algorithms to detect what can be taken away without the listener noticing – all to save on data size. Using apUnmask you can now use this research power to your benefit, extract and amplify those signals and help the listener’s ears to hear more.

SUGGESTED WORKFLOW
Insert apUnmask on the master track or an individual track to be enhanced.
Adjust the master gain until a reasonable amount of delta signal is visible.
Toggle the delta listen button to hear the “ghostly” sound what would be removed by the opus codec. This is what normally lives in the shadows of your music.
Experiment with the resolution knob to find the most interesting components.
Tweak the eq curve to extract and boost the good stuff.
Turn off delta listen and enjoy the result.

At its heart is a 10-band filterbank that can be shifted in real time to bring out resonances, shift tonal balance and animate specific frequencies. The output of the filter stage is processed by a simple yet effective delay line and algorithmic blurring. With these two chains of processors sounds can be completely resculpted, transformed and reconfigured in frequency and spatial balance.

INSPECT sets the lowest affected frequency that will be processed by the filterbank. You can think of it as a high-pass filter.

The VECTOR control sets the bandwidth of the filters in the series.

VELOCITY modulates VECTOR. As the amount of VELOCITY increases, the modulation rate also increases.

ECHO is a fixed, tempo-synced delay line with built-in feedback.

ABYSS is an algorithmic space and blurring effect. Use it with ECHO to sculpt new spaces.

Speektra is a speech simulation synthesizer based on the VOSIM method developed by Kaegi and Tempelaars in the 1970s. It uses bursts of pulses with formant characteristics to synthesize robotic vowel sounds.

VOSIM (VOice SIMulation) sound synthesis is based on the idea that by employing repeating tone-burst signals of variable pulse duration and variable delay, a sound output of high linguistic and musical expressive power can be obtained.

Puremagnetik is pleased to release Kristall – a plugin inspired by Arovane’s Gestalt, out now on Puremagnetik Tapes.

Kristall is a unique delay device that creates “prisms” of echo patterns. It sends audio through a delay feedback line and resamples the output into 2 discrete branches. You can then manipulate each branch independently and adjust playback locations for each channel.

Use Kristall as a simple delay or create segmented repetitions from the feedback buffer that modulate and overlap. The result creates complex patterns that augment the delay feedback in unconventional ways, uncovering myriad possibilities for sound experimentation.
