Alfred comes with a default keyboard combination for toggling its search bar: Option + Space. When the bar becomes active, simply input the keyword, and the app displays the results in list mode.

Also noteworthy is that Alfred automatically assigns a hotkey to each entry in the results area: you get to access specific items solely by using keyboard combinations.

In addition, if you prefix the search term with expressions such as “wiki”, “YouTube”, or “Twitter”, Alfred will perform web searches, and the results will be displayed in your default web browser.

Personalize the contents of the results list

Alfred can be tweaked to match your own needs: via the Preferences window you get to adjust built in features, to import workflows, or to change the overall app appearance by enabling a new interface theme.

Airfoil Satellite

Airfoil for Mac 5.0 includes full compatibility with the new Airfoil Satellite applications, available for iOS, Mac and Windows. If you want to hear your Mac’s audio on another Mac, Windows machine, or iOS device, just run the free Airfoil Satellite there. Airfoil will see it and enable you to send audio to it! Airfoil Satellite also offers remote control of both supported source applications, as well as Airfoil itself. Now you can control playback, toggle outputs off and on, and much more, all remotely.

Speaker Groups

A group is a collection of multiple speakers which appears as one in Airfoil’s main window. Use a Group to send audio to multiple outputs with a single click. Create one group for all the speakers in your house, or divide your speakers into zones. Now you can send audio exactly where you want even faster.

Silence Monitor

Great for workplace or shared home setups, the new silence monitor allows Airfoil to automatically disconnect itself when it’s streaming silence. The output device is then be freed up for others to use.

Custom Equalizer Presets

Adjust the equalizer to your liking, then save it in the Preset menu. Now you’ll be able to access those exact settings any time you like.

Hide Speakers

If you regularly connect to a shared network which contains devices you don’t control, you may wish to hide them entirely from Airfoil. Now you can do so, from the “Advanced Speaker Options” window.

Adjust Sync

Airfoil automatically keeps all outputs completely in sync. However, there may be rare situations where you wish to adjust this, such as when an output is connected to a receiver which adds its own latency. The new Sync sliders in the “Advanced Speaker Options” window make this possible.

Beautifully Refined Interface

Airfoil for Mac and Airfoil Satellite for Mac have both been improved, all without changing too much. The interface will still be familiar to users of older versions of Airfoil, but it also features many improvements. There are improvements like longer volume sliders in Airfoil’s main window, as well as beautiful new graphics that are fully updated for Retina displays. Meanwhile Airfoil Satellite has been updated to include the new controls for controlling Airfoil, while retaining all that the previous “Airfoil Speakers” application offered.

It’s now possible to clear Recent Applications from the Airfoil Source selector, which will make a small group of users happy.

Many other small improvements and fixes have been made.

  • Other: Airfoil now has preliminary compatibility with MacOS 10.14 (Mojave). We recommend users stick with a fully supported version of MacOS for now.

Work with symbols that save time. Components ready to use design make it unnecessary search and edit each instance of an item in a document. When you edit an instance, all other instances are updated automatically. Overwrite certain entities is also possible. Symbols can be vector graphics, raster images or text objects, which can also be used as objects within repetitive screens.

Within the Hands Off! Configuration window you can easily create new access rules (allow, deny, ask, hide, or preset) or edit already defined ones. Hands Off! is able to work with specific applications or with system services.

Artistic effects allow experimenting with photos – convert a photo into a B&W image and consequently add a color shade to it (for example, a sepia effect); replace colors on an image, add a texture (chosen from the built-in Texture Library or one created by the user) so that the image looks like drawn on a canvas, brick wall, corrugated paper, turn a photo into a halftone picture giving it a retro comic book look, etc.

The software is ease to use and to learn, and has a simple and intuitive interface. The program’s window displays Before and After images for comparison. You can switch between them with a click on the image. The Hints panel shows the description of the parameters and buttons when you hover over them with the cursor.

Digital cameras produce raw format images that need to be processed and converted to an editable file format before making any adjustments. The plug-in is able to work with raw files created by Canon, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Olympus, Ricoh, Samsung, Leaf, Leica, Panasonic, Sigma, Sony, Casio, Mamiya, Nikon, Pentax, Contax, Phase One, DJI, Epson, Fujifilm, Hasselblad, or Nokia digital cameras.

However, keep in mind that only certain camera models are supported, so you should verify on the Adobe website if the files generated by your device can be processed.

Raw format converter integrated into your Adobe Photoshop app

The Adobe Camera RAW installer will take care of the plug-in assimilation process, so you will be able to access its capabilities without having to leave the Adobe Photoshop application, although in a separate window.

Note that you will be able to work directly on the “digital negatives” while keeping the original files intact. The plug-in window allows you to visualize the image, but also includes basic editing tools, enables you to see the image histogram, to adjust the image exposure, and much more.

Easily accessible image processing tools

Before exporting the raw image files, Adobe Camera RAW offers you the opportunity to adjust the image tone, to modify the sharpening effect, to reduce the noise level, to convert the image to grayscale, or to create split toning effects.

The same gadgets panel placed on the right side of the Adobe Camera RAW main window includes tools for making lens corrections, for applying various effects (grain, post crop vignetting, and more), or for calibrating the camera.
