Yate has a long list of features; most importantly, an innovative scripting system called actions. Actions can be used to update all of an album’s tags with a single operation. Yate also supports integration with AcouticBrainz, AcoustID, Beatport, Discogs, iTunes and MusicBrainz. All changes can be easily reverted and individual changes can be undone in any order. Version 6.0: The Action Manager
Many actions are written which do not require selected audio files. These include actions which dynamically load files, those that manipulate databases, etc. The issue is that actions cannot run without at least one selected file.
There is a new column in the Action Manager named Always. When the column is enabled, it is treated as a hint to the action runner. The hint is used as follows:
if files are loaded and at least one is selected, there is no behaviour change.
if files are loaded and none are selected, one file will automatically be selected. The named variable File Auto Selected will be set to 1.
if no files are loaded, a temporary file will be supplied and selected. The named variable Temporary File Supplied will be set to 1.When the action terminates, the file is removed. Note that if the file is renamed or moved it will not automatically be removed.
Note that the All Files column settings are applied before the Always interpretation.
It is still your responsibility to ensure that selected files are not modified, if that is your intent.
Actions with the Always setting will be enabled in menus, main window toolbar icons and edit panel action buttons when there are no files selected.
Two new action statement categories were added: Import/Export and Preferences.

SwitchGlass adds a dedicated application switcher to your Mac. You can customize its appearance, size, and position on each attached display, including hiding it on selected displays. Use it to bring one or all of an app’s windows to the front, or as a drag-and-drop target to open files. The following app switcher attributes can be customized individually for each attached display:
Visibility – Permanently hide, show, or auto-hide the app switcher. Auto-hide keeps the app switcher hidden until the mouse cursor touches the region of the screen edge where the app switcher is positioned.
Position – Move the app switcher to one of eight different positions on each screen.
Orientation – Make the app switcher horizontal or vertical in a given position.
Material – Change the appearance of the app switcher background to one of four possible choices (see screenshot above) including a mode where it automatically matches the system appearance (e.g, dark when dark mode is active, light otherwise).

Here’s how the app switcher works in its default configuration:
Click an app icon to bring all windows from that app to the front.
Hold down the Shift key while clicking an app icon to bring just one window from that app to the front.
Hold down the Option key while clicking an app icon to hide the current app before bringing the clicked app to the front. (Option-clicking the currently active app will hide it.)
Hold down the Option and Shift keys while clicking an app icon to hide the current app before bringing just one window from the clicked app to the front. (Option-Shift-clicking the currently active app will hide it.)
Right-click (or Control-click) an app icon to activate a context menu from which you can perform any of the supported actions (described below).

The click and Shift-click actions are configurable. Each may be set to any one of these actions:

System Extensions will replace Kernel in Big Sur First of all, what are System Extensions? It all started in 2019 when Apple decided to minimize the amount of operations executed in Kernel. The old framework — Kernel Extensions — would no longer be of use. As an alternative, Apple offered System Extensions, and specifically Network Extensions as a framework to run apps that filter traffic.
Network Extensions MacOS 11 (Big Sur) will no longer support the old Kernel Extensions (for the most part), so we added support for the new framework. If you’re already on Big Sur preview, please make sure your AdGuard works in Network Extensions mode: open AdGuard’s menu -> Select Preferences… -> Network -> Select Mode…. “Kernel Extension” mode should be grayed out, and “Network Extension” mode should be selected.
Unfortunately, Network Extensions is a relatively new feature, which means it is only to be further bugfixed and updated.
