  • To reverse the sort order of an individual menu or submenu (sort by name instead of by date or vice versa), hold down the Option key before the menu pops up.
  • Default Folder X’s performance has been improved when running over a screen sharing session (like when you’re connecting from home to a Mac in your office).
  • Fixed a bug that could leave items sorted in a random order in submenus that showed the contents of folders on a file server.
  • Corrected a problem with ARCHICAD (and possibly other apps) that could result in Default Folder X using excessive CPU time.
  • When there’s nothing selected in an Open dialog, the Information tab won’t show a size, creation date or modification date. Previously, it would show values of zero for these properties.
  • Default Folder X could get confused on Catalina if your startup disk and computer had the same name. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the Esc key to stop working in file dialogs on rare occasions.
