Low-key privacy protection tool for the macOS platform that is able to automatically delete tracking cookies from various browsers

With so many online companies tracking your location and online activities, it’s no wonder that users make it a priority to enhance their web privacy. Plenty of simple to complex tools exist that serve this purpose.

Support for the most popular web browsers on the macOS platform

Privatus is a lightweight and extremely easy-to-use macOS application designed to protect your online privacy.

Moreover, Privatus works by detecting and deleting cookies, Flash cookies, databases, cache and Silverlight files which are tracking you after closing your browser. The following browsers are supported: Safari 6.1+, WebKit, Firefox 25+, Opera 17+, Google Chrome 30+, Chromium 30+ and Camino 2.1+.

Built-in Notification Center alerts for all cookies removed

Privatus is able to delete the cookies it thinks are tracking you (by default), but also all of them. You can easily select the option to remove all cookies after you quit your browser from the main window. Also, the main window includes a big button to toggle the app on / off.

The Privatus application also integrates with macOS’ Notifications system to tell you how many cookies (including how many tracking cookies), cache and other privacy intruding data have been removed.

Minimalist yet quite powerful tool for protecting your privacy on the Mac

Furthermore, Privatus features a minimalistic user interface with a sleek design. From its window, only a few options are available (besides the ON / OFF button): start the app at login, toggle the notifications and display the menu bar panel. The menu bar item offers another way to access the ON / OFF button.

All in all, Privatus is not the most feature-rich cookie deletion tool for the macOS platform, but it does provide an elegant and very user-friendly solution. If you are tired of manually deleting tracking cookies and are not even sure which ones invade your privacy, then feel free to try out Privatus.
