RE:VisionFX RE:Flex brings intuitive morphing and warping to After Effects. Superior results are achieved using RE:Vision Effects’ proprietary and sophisticated technology. RE:Flex is especially easy to learn because it uses the host program’s own drawing and masking tools (when available) to direct the warping and morphing; as such, there is no need to learn a whole new user interface. Using our proprietary tracking software, RE:Flex is the first morphing program to combine hand feature-matching with automatic image registration.

With RE:Flex warps are made easy. Just specify “from” geometry (in red) and “to” geometry (in yellow). No meshes. No new user interface to learn. Masks can be open or closed and need not be connected in any particular way. Picture courtesy of Videometry.
RE:Flex’s automatic alignment feature works in conjunction with hand-specified correspondences. After first aligning hand-matched correspondences, RE:Flex then uses the tracking found in RE:Vision’s acclaimed Twixtor product to automatically align the non-handmatched parts of the image. The automatic alignment feature can greatly improve morphs without having to specify all features by hand!

Features of RE:Flex

  • Warping is directed through the host program’s roto tools (splines and polylines), not through a grid of mesh points!
  • Geometries need not be closed shapes
  • Smooth nonpolygonal warping
  • Interactive warping: view the warp as you drag the control shapes
  • Option to match vertices of corresponding geometries for fine control
  • 8 and 16 bits per channel support.

RE:Flex Warping Features

  • Warping is directed using sets of “from” geometries and “to” geometries at each frame.
  • The amount of warping can be specified and animated.
  • Variable amount of shape transition between “from” and “to” geometries can be specified pershape.
  • RE:Flex Morphing Features
  • When morphing from stiltostill morphing occurs by creating a set of geometry on the “source” image, then moving the set to corresponding places on the “destination” image.
  • Automatic alignment feature that can be used alone or in conjunction with handspecified correspondences. This feature can greatly improve morphs without having to specify all features by hand.
  • Morph from one moving sequence to another.
  • By default, the two images are linearly crossdissolved. For finer control, the amount of crossdissolve can be specified for each piece of matching geometries individually.
  • Variable amount of shape transition between “from” and “to” geometries can be specified pershape.

REVisionFX RE:Match takes intuitive color and texture matching to a whole new level by addressing common problems on multicam and stereo shoots. RE:Match is a set of plugins to match one view of video or film to another so that it looks as if it was shot with the same camera and settings. RE:Match assumes that both image sequences are taken roughly at the same location but perhaps were not shot at the same time or from the same point-of-view.

Features

  • Ability to globally color correct one sequence to match another.
  • Ability to globally color correct a whole sequence based on a particular point in time, or can be performed separately for each pair of frames in both sequences.
  • Ability to perform automatic global (whole image) color correction based on a smaller window of pixels for each of the image sequences.
  • Works well with over bright values and very wide dynamic ranges.
  • Matching for stereo pairs takes advantage of internal perpixel registration using optical flow methods.
  • Stereo pair matching takes into account occlusions.
  • Stereo pair matching takes into account that the two images may not have corresponding details at some of the edges of the frame.
  • Stereo matching has controls for making details, such as reflections, lens flares and specular highlights match between the two views.

  • Visualization modes are provided to visualize and guide what RE:Match is doing internally.

REVisionFX DE:Flicker is designed to smooth out those annoying flicker and artifacts when shooting high frame rate or timelapse video. Whether you are shooting in an arena, a stadium, a park at night, a nightclub or in a home, man-made light sources can cause havoc, especially now that cameras and smart phones are being made with the ability to shoot at higher and higher frame rates. And of course this functionality is rapidly becoming the favorite of sports enthusiasts everywhere.

Dealing with strobing and light source flicker has been very time consuming until now. Without DE:Flicker, fixing the problems usually involves creating mattes followed by hand-adjusting the elements. Fixing a short scene using frame-by-frame color correction and zone corrections could take hours, when it is even possible. RE:Vision Effects DE:Flicker handles these problems automatically while retaining image detail.

DE:Flicker is unique because it not only fixes flicker from artificial light sources but also fixes flicker on multiple objects, even when those objects flicker at different rates. DE:Flicker also minimizes problems when shooting directly at light sources, causing them to “breathe” and change size when shot at higher frame rates.
