Micromat Checkmate 1.1.9 (3382)

Micromat Checkmate 1

Micromat Checkmate 1.1.9 (3382) Multilingual macOS

Introducing Checkmate, the computer health monitoring software by Micromat. We created Checkmate to be a powerful computer diagnostic product without being an intrusion to your work. The software observes your schedule and performs testing when your computer is idle. It then quietly logs results and stays completely out of your way – unless it finds a serious problem. Then it will alert you to the issue and open the Checkmate dashboard so you not only get a full report of the issue, but also read suggested steps you can take to correct the problem.

And Checkmate couldn’t be simpler to use: simply install it and forget about it. You won’t even know it’s there until it finds a problem and alerts you. No buttons to push, no schedules to set and no interruptions to your work. If you count on your Macintosh, make sure your Macintosh counts on Checkmate. Because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Hardware:

Memory
RAM, or Random Access Memory, is your Mac’s short term memory. When memory fails, your Mac can act unpredictably.

Battery
Laptop computers require a battery to operate when they’re not plugged in to an electrical socket. Find out before your battery stops working.

Drives:

Volume Structures
A hard drive’s volume structures are the ‘map’ that keeps track of your files. Keeping them healthy is the key to preventing data loss.

RAID Status
Redundant Array of Independent Disks, or RAID, can help keep your data safe, or speed up access speed, or both. If one of the hard drives in your RAID is having trouble, the result can mean data loss. Learning when your RAID is having trouble is critical to keeping data stored there safe.

Surface Scan
The physical location of your data on your hard drive is known as a block. If a block can no longer be written to or read from, it’s known as a bad block, and the data there can become corrupt. When bad blocks begin to appear, it’s a good time to replace your hard drive. Find out before critical data is compromised.

SMART
Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology, or SMART, is built in to most internal hard drives. When hard drives notice that they are beginning to have problems, you can find out by checking their SMART attributes. If your hard drive is failing, SMART check can notify you.

Files:

File Structures
In order to see your pictures or listen to your music, the bytes on your hard drive that make your media ‘work’ have to follow the rules for that type of data. Checkmate checks these types of files and others to make sure that they will continue to work as expected.

System:

I/O Check
Your Mac keeps track any time it isn’t able to read or write data, such as when a file is corrupt or your hard drive isn’t working properly. Often, it isn’t easy to find out when these kinds of problems occur. Find these problems sooner than later.

Power On Self-Test
Every time your Mac powers on, it takes a quick snapshot of its basic health to determine if it can keep moving through the startup process. Checkmate displays the result of this test, which can often serve as early detection for memory (RAM) problems in particular.

Micromat Drive Scope 1.2.8

Micromat Drive Scope 1.2.8

Hard drives (and solid state drives) are the most failure prone components in your Mac. For that very reason, in fact, drive manufacturers have built in self monitoring, analysis and reporting technology right into the drive. (a.k.a. SMART) Most utilities barely scratch the surface of this information, simply reporting the bare essentials: pass or fail. Too often, once the overall failure has occurred, there isn’t enough time to get important data from the drive. With Drive Scope you can see into the health of most any drive connected to your Mac.

The solid state drives (SSDs) that Apple uses in it’s newest Macs* use a new connection type, called NVMe. Until now, no utility was available that could read the SMART attributes from these drives – including Apple’s Disk Utility. Beginning with the latest update, version 1.1.1, Drive Scope can read the data on these drives, providing access to your drive’s health data

Building on the improvements to the SMART check in Techtool Pro, Drive Scope not only provides early warning when a drive is on the path to failure, but provides a deep dive into the health of the drive. See what errors have occurred, and when, along with whether the errors are temporary or an indicator of overall failure. You can even trigger the drive’s internal testing to run manually, providing instant access to up-to-date drive health information. With Drive Scope, you are in control of your drive’s health.

  • Advance drive health warnings. Complete drive information.
  • The most complete SMART utility for the Mac.
  • High Sierra Compatible
  • And now supporting the solid state drives in the latest Macs!

Drive Health
With Drive Scope you can see the complete picture of your Drive’s health. Granular information about each aspect your drive is monitoring is available for review. See each of the attributes that contribute to the drive’s health – in detail. See which attributes contribute to overall failure versus those that are merely informational.

Modern Solid State Drives
The latest Macs’ solid state drives replace the aging SATA connection with a new connection type, known as NVMe. This connection, until now, didn’t allow sharing of the drive’s SMART data. These modern SSDs display their health data a little differently, so you’ll see a different selection of tabs for these drives.

Control over Testing
Typically, a drive will check it’s SMART attributes whenever it is convenient. With Drive Scope, you can manually trigger the drive’s internal tests to make sure the SMART data is as up-to-date as possible. Check how long since the last time the drive ran a test with the drive’s testing log.

Information
When you first open Drive Scope, an information page is displayed, summarizing all the critical information about your drive. See Drive Scope’s advanced health assesment at a glance, along with the number of errors encountered, as well as model and capacity information specific to your drive.

What’s New:

Version 1.2.8:
Changes:

  • Added additional support for NVMe revision 1.2 or greater.
  • Added a localized version of the SAT SMART Driver Installer.
  • Added additional drive manufacturer company logos.
  • Other minor fixes and enhancements.

Compatibility: OS X 10.8.5 or later, 64-bit processor

Micromat Lifespan 1.0.1

Micromat Lifespan 1.0.1

Lifespan is intended to address the ever increasing use and reliance on flash-based storage. If you require the most out of your solid state drives or other flash-based storage devices, you can benefit from knowing how much useful life is remaining on those drives. Flash-based storage devices have a finite life, and when they exceed this lifespan, their performance can begin to degrade, or they can stop working entirely. It can be extremely valuable to be aware of the available life remaining, particularly in scenarios where these devices are used vigorously.

Most flash-based storage devices store your data on non-volatile NAND solid state memory. Each cell of this flash memory can only be ‘programmed and erased’ a limited number of times. Drives can have fewer than 2,000 or over 10,000 of these program erase cycles or p/e cycles, depending on the type and quality of the NAND chips used. For a middle of the road solid state drive, this translates into about 100 TB of useful life, but this can vary greatly in either direction. Regardless, for every flash-based storage device, there will come a point when no more data can be stored, and the device will fail.

Lifespan is a macOS Menu Bar application which is designed to monitor the remaining useful life for flash-based storage devices. It will display the remaining useful life for your solid state drive (SSD), and we hope to support CompactFlash and CFast devices soon. The Lifespan menu will display current life usage and will alert you when the device is below the threshold of useful life remaining. Armed with this knowledge, these flash-based storage devices can be retired before the risk of losing data becomes likely.

TechTool Pro 11.0.4

TechTool Pro has long been one of the foremost utilities for keeping your Mac running smoothly and efficiently. With the release of version 11, it has become more proficient than ever. Techtool Pro 11 is compatible with all current Macintosh models and system versions.

Results on the go

Techtool Pro supports iCloud Drive. Simply download the new Techtool Remote iOS app (free on the App Store), and open it. Techtool Pro will then send test results to any iOS device logged in to the same iCloud account. So if you have a long test (or tests) running that you want to know the results of, but you need to hit the road, you can now get notified of your results anywhere you have an internet connection.

Mac Drive Testing and Repair

Your Mac’s hard drive, even if it is a Solid State Drive, is more likely to experience problems than any other component on your Mac. Because data changes so frequently, it can sometimes get scrambled. So, it’s important to be able to test drives for problems and then repair them. Sadly, if something is physically wrong with the drive, it will need to be backed up and replaced, but the sooner this type of damage is detected, the fewer files – like cherished memories and important personal documents – will be lost. Most drive problems, however, result from data being in the wrong place, and can be repaired using TechTool Pro’s Volume Rebuild tool. In addition to native Mac drive formats, Mac OS Extended and APFS, Techtool Pro supports testing and repair of MS-DOS (FAT32) and ExFAT formatted volumes.

Emergency Startup Disk

If your startup disk stops working, and you need another startup disk, TechTool Pro’s eDrive steps in to help. The eDrive is what you’ll use to test, rebuild or defragment your main hard drive, but it is really helpful if your main startup disk goes missing. Instead of fumbling for your install DVD, or relying on the Recovery HD’s limited functionality, the eDrive gives you quick access to TechTool Pro along with several handy Apple utilities. You can even add other programs if you like. Customize the size of your eDrive, up to 128 GB.

Protect Important Data

The best way to prevent data loss is to be prepared. In addition to a backup, TechTool Pro includes TechTool Protection, which keeps an eye on your trash, allowing you to undelete that file you didn’t mean to delete. You can also back up your directory structures, the ‘map’ of where your data lives, so that if you need to recover data from a corrupt drive, TechTool Pro’s Data Recovery tool will know exactly where to look. Better yet, use TechTool Pro’s Volume Cloning tool to create an additional backup.

Take It With You

The portability of TechTool Protogo is included with every copy of TechTool Pro. TechTool Protogo allows you to create a bootable diagnostic device that contains TechTool Pro and all of its most powerful tools as well as any of your own utilities you may wish to install. You can then use this device to boot, check, maintain, and repair Macintosh computers as needed. Simply launch Protogo, choose Protogo from the Mode menu, and use it to set up a diagnostic disk.

Complete Hardware Testing

TechTool Pro includes the most comprehensive hardware testing in the industry. On some machines there are more than 100 electrical and temperature sensors that TechTool Pro will check. If any of those sensors report values outside of their acceptable operating range, the new Sensors test will let you know. TechTool Pro also tests your Mac’s cooling system, and can test laptop batteries as well, so you can catch small problems before they become big ones. In addition, test networking ports, WiFi and more using the Network and Bluetooth tests.

Advanced Memory Testing

TechTool Pro’s memory testing suite is the most comprehensive among general hardware utilities. TechTool Pro, takes advantage advancements used by ATOMIC, our dedicated Memory Tester, and integrates them into testing your memory. Now, memory is ‘cleaned’ before testing, reclaimed from macOS, maximizing the amount of RAM that can be tested.

Test your Mac, iPhone or iPad battery

Techtool Pro has been able to test your Mac’s battery for quite a while. But, recent reports have shown that battery condition can affect the performance of your iPhone and iPad. If your iOS device is connected to your Mac, Techtool Pro can now test your device’s battery, and give you a host of other important battery data as well. Find out if your iPhone or iPad is running at its full potential.

Take control of your Mac

Utilize a suite of maintenance routines to keep your Mac running smoothly. Manually run your Mac’s daily, weekly, or monthly maintenance routines, as well as rebuild key system caches.

System Requirements:
  • Intelbased Macs
  • OS X 10.10 up to macOS 10.14 ‘Mojave’

Micromat ATOMIC 1.0.4

Micromat ATOMIC 1.0.4

Glitch? Freeze? Crash? Don’t worry. You got this. Introducing ATOMIC: The most comprehensive memory tester available for the Mac. Most Macintosh freeze-ups, crashes and other failures are easily found. Broken software, a bad drive or some other troubled peripheral problem can be solved with some simple detective work.

Most Macintosh freeze-ups, crashes and other failures are easily found. Broken software, a bad drive or some other troubled peripheral problem can be solved with some simple detective work. But then there’s that random, inexplicable problem that is never easily solved – a system that freezes when the computer is idle. Momentary lockups. The beachball that never goes away. Oddly-colored pixels that randomly appear or normal ones that inexplicably disappear. Even a random restart for no reason resulting in a loss of any unsaved work.

These problems are often the result of faulty memory. RAM is one of the few components that is handled by users, sold in bulk by the lowest bidders and is in such demand that many manufacturers don’t test modules as extensively as they should. And while a truly bad memory module will often show its faults immediately after installation, a partially faulty one will not. Which can lead to hours of diagnosing what seems like a normal problem that in reality is not normal at all.

That’s why Micromat has developed ATOMIC, the most advanced memory tester available for Macintosh. Two years in the making, we’ve created the most extensive RAM testing program ever made for Macintosh. Whether you’re an experienced technician that works on multiple computers a day or an everyday-user wanting to troubleshoot your own machine, ATOMIC was made for you.

One click of your mouse and ATOMIC will perform a comprehensive test of your system’s memory. You don’t even need to read the manual. More extensive test options are available for those who want to dig deeper into potential problems.

Sometimes, though, it’s nice to be able to leave tests out, or to skip certain drives. Using the new configuration panel, you have total control of the Check Computer suite. Power to the people.
    • Partition Map – new drive test – TechTool Pro has long been known for testing your Mac’s file system. It is important also to test the data structures that contain the Mac’s file system: the Partition Map. The new Partition Map test checks the partition map of a given drive for errors. Partition map errors can cause entire volumes to go missing, or prevent a Mac from booting. If errors are found, they can be repaired usin the Partition Repair tool.
    • Partition Repair – new drive repair tool – Along with Volume Rebuild, which repairs Mac file systems, the Partition Repair tool repairs the remaining portions of the drive which keeps track of the volumes on your hard drive. This includes hidden partitions which keep track of your Mac’s startup process. The Partition Repair tool does just what it says, repairing the partition maps or drives where needed.
    • SMART Check – Now even smarter – Hard drives include a technology called SMART (Self Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) which can inform a computer about the health of its hard drives. In most utilities, just the overall results – passed or failed – are reported to the user. In the failed state, often there is little or no time to back up data before the drive fails entirely. Previous versions of TechTool Pro reported the overall status of each attribute, but some attributes don’t contribute to the failure of a drive. Now, the SMART Check has gotten smarter. TechTool Pro now knows which attributes contribute to drive failure, and will report a failing result before the drive fails completely. Giving you time to rescue your data.
    • Memory Test – Now better than ever before – TechTool Pro 7 took a revolutionary step in testing memory, making TechTool Pro’s memory testing suite the most comprehensive test available for the Mac. In TechTool Pro 10, we’ve taken some of the additional advancements used by ATOMIC, our dedicated Memory Tester, and integrated them into TechTool Pro. Now, memory is ‘cleaned’ before testing, reclaimed from macOS, maximizing the amount of RAM that can be tested.
    • Processor Benchmark – Get an objective measurement of your Mac’s processor performance. The Processor Benchmark too uses industry-standard measurement algorithms to test processor performance. Using this tool, you can get metrics that can be used to compare processor speeds apples-to-apples. Avoids the confusion of comparison using Megahertz.
    • Bluetooth – New test – Most Macs depend on Bluetooth to connect to the tools we use to interact with our computers: the keyboard and mouse. Bluetooth problems can result in dropped connections with those devices, which can be very frustrating. Verify the proper operation of your Mac’s Bluetooth hardware. Make sure that not only your input devices, but also your audio and fitness devices can connect to your Mac by checking the Bluetooth hardware on your Mac.
    • Network Interfaces – New test – Most Macs spend the majority of their lives connected to the internet. If the ethernet or wifi adapters in your Mac aren’t working, the valuable connection to the internet can fail. The new Network Interfaces test can test any connected network interface for errors. It not only tests ethernet and wifi, but also any other supported internet connection, ethernet over USB, VPN connections, even a FireWire network conneciton. Ensure the reilability of your internet and intranet connections by testing your Mac’s network interfaces.
    System Requirements:
    • Intelbased Macs
    • macOS 10.8 or greater
    • 1 GB RAM or higher
