Dialog combines in one plug-in all the processing needed to clean up, adjust, and sweeten recordings of the spoken voice. It is perfect for voice-over, film/tv recordings on location or sound stage, and broadcast.

Dialog includes brickwall filters, de-hum and de-buzz processing, broadband noise reduction, de-ploding, de-essing, 10-band equalization, compression, and limiting. Separate presets for each section allow you to get results fast.

The compressor is the TrackPlug Vintage compressor, with presets tailored to voice processing.

Tube Saturator is the world’s most accurate real time tube amp plug-in. Unlike other tube simulators, which use radically simplified models, Tube Saturator uses state of the art circuit simulation technology to capture every nuance of an analog circuit. With circuit simulation, the analog schematic (consisting of the individual resistors, capacitors, tubes, and so on) completely defines the signal processing. The schematic is converted into a system of non-linear differential equations which is solved at each sampling period, in realtime. That’s mathematical talk for “it sounds exactly like the analog circuit”.

The circuit simulation technology is extremely CPU intensive, and hence we are only able to simulate very simple circuits at this time. A fast computer is highly recommended to run the plug-in. Tube Saturator is in fact a basic circuit consisting of a Baxandall type three-band EQ feeding two 12AX7 triode preamp stages. It’s similar to preamp stages you’d find in a guitar amp, but it is by no means a complete guitar amplifier model— that would be way too expensive to simulate even with today’s fast CPUs. However, it is extremely accurate, and hence you can get the same distortion and tonal characteristics that you’d expect from a real tube preamp.

Use Tube Saturator to add a bit of analog warmth to recordings, or increase the drive for some distortion. You can use it as a saturating peak limiter too.

Increasing the Drive control increases the (digital) input gain while decreasing the (digital) output gain, so you can easily adjust distortion levels. The FAT switch changes the bias circuit of the first preamp stage to increase gain.

Application to mirror the screen of your Mac to any Philips Smart TV. No wires and no additional hardware needed! You can also stream individual video files from your Mac to your TV. Also, we included the option to watch one window on your Mac, and another window on your TV!

This works on any Philips Smart TV from the 2012 models onward.

In using the app, there will be about a second of latency. So this mirroring is not suitable for gaming.

However, it is very suitable for watching movies, giving presentations, watching photos, and much more!

The quality of your experience will be dependent on the quality of your local network.

Some tips to enhance the experience:
  • Preferably, connect your TV by LAN cable to your router.
  • Use an “ac” router. If you don’t have one, then an “n” router.
  • Try not to overload your wifi network by moving big files around while you are mirroring.
How the app works:

First, make sure that your Samsung TV is on the same local network and same subnet as your Mac. The TV should not be in screen mirroring mode, but just on “TV” Mode or any HDMI IN port.

After launching the app, you will see the app icon appearing in the top bar of your Mac and the app will look for your TV on the network. It will show your TV when it has found it. Now, you have two options:

Mirror your Mac Screen:

Use this option to put the screen of your Mac on TV. In source, you can select which screen (or attached monitor) you want to display on TV. If you are running multiple applications on your Mac, you can also select which application window you want to see on TV.

Enable Sound: check this to hear the sound of your Mac coming from the TV. You will need the additional (free) audio driver, which you can download here: http://bit.ly/MirrorAudio

Play Video File:

Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you want to play just the file on TV. Drop it in the box and it will play on TV.

Limitations: Apple has HDCP DRM protection for playing iTunes movies. This means that screen mirroring is not possible when watching movies from iTunes.

FilmConvert Pro – is a film stock emulation plugin for After Effects, Premiere Pro. Give Digital camera footage the color and grain of your favorite film stocks. We’ve said a lot about the digital versus film debate, and a lot of people have a lot of different opinions. Film still had a technological advantage over digital until really the last few years or so, and now we have digital sensors which can match or exceed film stocks with dynamic range.

First open up After Effects or Premiere.

Create a new project, or open up an existing project.
In the case of a new project, import some media, and drag it onto the timeline (Premiere) or a composition (After Effects).
If in Premiere find the Effects tab. In After Effects, find the Effects menu item.
Go the Film Emulation category, which currently has just one item FilmConvert. Drag the effect onto your media.

You will now see some color changes, grain and FilmConvert water marks on your media!

NOTE: If the Film Emulation category is not visible in Premiere, close Premiere, then re-launch with the Shift and Alt keys held down until the welcome screen appears. This will clear the plugin cache.

Camera Controls

  • Source Camera Selects the camera (or camera type) used to shoot your footage. This setting is required in order to apply the correct color correction.
  • Exposure Performs an adjustment prior to the film emulation being applied.
  • Temp Adjusts the color temperature. This assumes that the clip temp is 5600 (daylight). Moving the slider to the left makes the scene cooler. Moving to the right makes it warmer.

Film Controls

  • Convert To drop down Selects the particular film stock to be emulated.
  • Size drop down Selects the negative size to emulate. Smaller values such as 8mm are fuzzier with larger grain. Larger values have smaller grain.
  • Film Color slider Adjusts the balance between the original digital camera color palette, and the film color palette. Typically you would leave this at 100% film
  • Grain slider Adjusts the amount of grain applied to the image. The default is 100%, which is an accurate representation of the grain for the selected film stocks. Some stocks have more grain such as D3200.
  • Blur Slider Adjusts the amount of blur applied to the image when either an 8mm or 16mm negative size is chosen. The default is 100%, which is an accurate representation of the amount of fuzziness that will be present with the selected negative size. The blur is applied before the grain.

Easy & Creative Tone: Toned-MAX is a versatile digital equalizer plugin with analog modeling. Although Toned-MAX can be used creatively on individual tracks, it shines at mastering and bus tracks. More than a basic EQ, Toned-MAX includes many different visual features for monitoring the signal, and controls for shaping the output.

Intuitive and Flexible EQ

Toned-MAX includes 15 different filter types including standard high pass, low pass, shelf, and bell filters. Toned-MAX also includes a tilt filter, a constant-q bell filter, a band shelf filter, and filter types that mimic analog shelf filters. Filters include additional options such as a “Q-Link” control for further mimicking of analog filter types, and two different dynamic EQ options for dead-simple dynamic equalization. All filters can function in stereo, left, right, mid, or side mode.

Analog Sound

Beyond the various analog filter types that can be accomplished with combining different filters and the Q-Link feature, Toned-MAX includes LVC-Audio’s analog modeling as found in PreAMPed and T-Chain (preamp models and vintage compressors). Toned-MAX includes separate input and output analog modeling of clean analog gear. There are 7 distinct input models and 6 output models. An overall Drive control can be used for gently increasing saturation and dynamic aspects of the analog models.

Phil’s Cascade is based on highly esoteric vintage components combined in a truly unique circuitry. It is anything but your typical audio processor. Phil’s Cascade is an amazing toolbox which will open the world for creating the most interesting sound flavors.

The beauty of this approach is that it did not have to follow any rules at all. Phil’s Cascade uses very interesting NOS (New Old Stock) components which are everything but standard in audio applications, and the novel circuitry is a creative celebration of its own. All in all, this gives you the perfect basis for creating truly wonderful, new and unheard sounds.

Now you can spice up virtual and natural instruments at ease, transmuting standard sounds with all kinds of gritty, organic and aged flavours. There are no right or wrong settings: Saturation, harmonics, distortion, colouration, filtering, interaction, anything goes, and experimenting is as much encouraged as it is rewarding.

Like every elysia plugin released so far, Phil‘s Cascade has been modelled on real analogue hardware. However, this one has been exclusively planned, designed and built to become a plugin! Painstaking analysis and modelling of circuit and component behaviors finally made this monster become available for your DAW.

There can be only one. What a pity, but you can rest assured that the hardware will never go into serial production. Most of the parts are so rare that they would last for just a handful of units, with environmental restrictions forbidding to use them in new products anyway, and the price point for this beast would be pretty demanding as well, to say the least.

All components used for Phil‘s Cascade were made when we were kids (or not even born yet) by legendary brands like Philips, Sprague, Erdmet, Wima and PSW the very best of New Old Stock.

FEATURES

Components

Experiencing true vintage sound goodness from a 21st-century device relies on A) the exclusive use of components made decades ago and B) using them in old-school topologies with some interesting twists.

Transformers

The NE and NX series transformers made by Philips in 1975 were actually never meant to be used in audio environments. However, first experiments quickly revealed they perform like real rock stars, now building the core ingredients forming the unique sound of Phil’s Cascade. There definitively is a lot of iron in this signal path!

Tubes

Beyond the few tube types which are still available for serial production these days, the rabbit hole of weird, amazing and yes, magic NOS tubes couldn’t be any deeper. All made by Philips a long time ago, the ECC91, EF183 and EF86 are everything but your typical audio tubes and that’s exactly what makes them so valuable, as their special sound signature is plain and simple, unique.

Power

Hardware rule #1: The heart of any audio device shall be its power supply! The 12 lb. power transformer used for Phil’s Cascade originally comes from vintage Tektronix measuring equipment, surviving the times when even this was based on tubes exclusively. With its many windings and taps, this mothership of a transformer is perfect for a multi tube-driven project.

Capacitors

Old electrolytic caps can really suck. These, however, are in still in great shape. Made by Roederstein (ROE) way before the company was acquired by Vishay and in a time when even ‘smaller’ capacities came in a considerable footprint. Anyway, this batch of truly beautiful caps offer all the capacity needed for Phil’s Cascade – and then some!

Rotary cap

What a stunning piece of engineering art! Rotary capacitors like this were used in old tube radios. What a beast for realizing just a single function. The scale is especially stunning on this one, and as a wonderful detail, it is backlit by a small E10 light bulb. After a little bit of modification, this historic piece became the central gain controller and an indicator of Phil’s Cascade.

Knobs

Phil’s Cascade is controlled by a set of authentic bakelite knobs, made in the US many decades ago. Just a few of the knobs in this batch (a lucky find) were in such great condition, only showing signs of their respective age, but no significant discolourations or cracks. Against the odds, not only two different sizes but also a single On/Off knob were found inside the dusty old box.

Light

Some icing on the cake. This pilot light is very rare new old stock made around the 1950s. It shines a truly significant shape of light, and it perfectly fits the aesthetics of the exclusive housing designed for Phil’s Cascade. But the wildest aspect about it is the light intensity which can be dimmed down mechanically, until just a super tiny spot in the middle of the lens remains.

What is the SCHOEPS Mono Upmix plugin good at?

The SCHOEPS Mono Upmix can generate Stereo and even LCR channels from any mono signal and works great on voices in Post Production, synth in music production, as well as bass, guitars, drum room mics, vocals, etc.

It adaptively extracts the diffuse sound in the mono input signal to create an upmix signal. As the diffuse sound should always be reproduced decorrelated on different stereo channels, the up-mixed signal sounds more natural than the original mono track.

The Mono Upmix is often superior to a reverb as it doesn’t add reverb but uses the present diffuse sound.

Furthermore, it’s possible to control the perceived source distance and panning position by generating early reflections.

The Mono Upmix plugin performs great with mono location sound dialogue as well as spot microphones in a music recording.
