Once you tuck away all the status item you no longer want to see in your menu bar, Vanilla will allow you to hide them by clicking on its ” < ” status item. Afterward, all the menu extras you wanted to hide will be concealed, and the only icon still visible in their place will be Vanilla’s ” > ” symbol.

Although while running it using only its free features accomplishes most of the things you would want from such an app, upon registration you can use its Pro features that will also make it possible to have it launch automatically upon login and to completely remove status bar items from your Mac’s menu bar.

Simple to use solution for keeping your Mac’s menu bar clean

Given that Vanilla has just been released, it does come with enough features to justify the price tag on its Pro features, but it would be nice if in the future Vanilla will also have global hot-key support, as well as support for automatically displaying the menulets that update after being hidden.

After launching the app, you will see the app icon appearing in the top bar of your Mac and the app will look for your TV on the network. It will show your TV when it has found it. Now, you have two options:

Mirror your Mac Screen:

Use this option to put the screen of your Mac on TV. In source, you can select which screen (or attached monitor) you want to display on TV. If you are running multiple applications on your Mac, you can also select which application window you want to see on TV.

Enable Sound: check this to hear the sound of your Mac coming from the TV. You will need the additional (free) audio driver, which you can download here: http://bit.ly/MirrorAudio

Play Video File:

Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you want to play just the file on TV. Drop it in the box and it will play on TV.

Support for IPTC, XMP and EXIF v2.3 metadata

EXIF, IPTC and XMP metadata is supported when exporting to TIFF, PNG or JPEG image formats.

“Processing Disabled” Output Mode

Ability to bypass all image adjustments and all color matching operations for fast, high quality export of linear files intended for further processing with other image processing programs or RAW workflows. Also useful for creating non-color matched output for use in generating custom camera or scene profiles with ICC camera profiling software.
